Glad to see this book now in e-book format. I've got the paperback version and have used it frequently as a reference after the first read through. I'm getting the e-book so I can have it handy. This book is a unique and sorely needed approach to reading and understanding the Constitution and Declaration. The words are defined for you as you read through the text of the original document, which handles why a lot of people probably give up on reading it, or consider it a chore. Plus there's a great glossary, and other chapters that give some easily-understood background to the Declaration and Constitution that are excellent. This book makes the founding documents easy to understand, and the background info just as easy and quite interesting. This is indeed the "People's Guide" because it's written for everyone, whether you're a middle school student, a history major, or the neighborhood plumber. Any time anyone tells me they didn't quite understand the Constitution or had trouble with it, I refer them to this book. It's perfect not just for the average adult, but also for helping teens learning about the Founding Documents, in school or out of school. (It should probably be required reading for all of Congress also.) What is most useful about it is that it's laid out with words and phrases defined for you as you go, usually using the definitions from the best dictionary closest to the time the documents were written - Webster's 1828 dictionary. And the simplest, clearest definitions are used, allowing you to just get the understanding and continue reading. I can't recommend this book too highly. Not only will you enjoy it and find it useful, but you'll probably keep using it as a reference like I do. It makes following current affairs and even politics much more easy.
