If you have read the Night Angel trilogy then this short story will make sense to you. I need to go or should say want to reread them. A assassin who sees glimpses of the future saw he was being killed by forty men all at once. The story bounces around a lot in Durzo Blint past over the last few hundred alives and a little about who he was or is. The choices he made at different times and why he keeps living and changing who he is and what he looks like. I liked it but wished it was longer look into his different lives.

Durzo Blint fans- You will not be disappointed in this novella. His origin is explained and how he first meets Momma K. I loved all of the back story and want to truly know more about these two character's. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. But while you're waiting read The Black Prism. Great read with really fanastic characters and several of them very flawed much like Durzo Blint. Happy reading!

A nice little addition to the Night Angel books and a very welcome look at the origins of Durzo Blint.

While there are a number if minor stumbles in writing and plot flow (it turns into an rpg playthrough a couple times) overall the characters are fun and the story is engaging

I read this short novella in an hour, wishing that the author had expanded it into a full novel.

Great book, once I started I had to read the whole series. Can't wait to see what Brent Weeks comes out with next.

Any and all Night Angel fans will relish this opportunity to return to Midcyru through the eyes of the ever admired, ever feared, Durzo Blint. While brief, the story fills in a few character gaps while also deepening the mythos of the world. A true fans delight, and a great primer for those still new to the series. Weeks strays from spoilers in this story while still retaining a cohesive mood. If you have doubts plunging into this series, start here. It's and inexpensive and quick means of seeing exactly what kind of ride is in store for anyone just picking up a Weeks book.

If you have read The Night Angel Trilogy you have to read the ebook. The only complaint I have is that I wish it would have been as long as the rest.
