Perpetually Seven
All humanity is so accustomed to the passage of time that no one can fathom it coming to a stop. This is the case when a man, whose long day has fatigued him greatly, returns home only to find that his clocks have all stopped at seven. Strange, he begins to think, but merely attributes it to the raging storm outside. But when minutes pass, or do not, he begins to feel the effects of the loss of time. Will he survive this calamity, or will time forever pass him by? A short story very much free of time, but essentially lock within its grasp, this story details the bizarre concept of our own notions of time and the consequences of its loss. Mysterious and dark, with a nod to Edgar A. Poe’s fashion, it stimulates the mind while engaging and enraging the senses. Read and see it time will not also pass you by.
