Persuading Perfection by TC Matson

A new second chance STANDALONE.

A simple, secret affair with my brother's best friend--that's what it was supposed to be.

Zachary Calloway was the master of broken hearts and completely off limits.
Except his smooth talking sexy ways were irresistible, landing me in over my head.

Jade Lauder was supposed to be a secret. No one could ever know the times we shared.
Except here she stood with the biggest change in our lives.

Years of secrets will be revealed.
Years of heartache will come back to deliver a bitter sting.
Years of friendships will be demolished.
Years of lies will be exposed.

All for something we couldn't deny.

The broken heart I never intended to give her stands between us.
With no more secrets, it's time to persuade her to give me a second chance.

A second chance at loving her...
And this time, I'm not letting go.

Now you know things never end well when there are secrets and lies going on so no this wasn't any different. When the house of cards fall it's all the worse because neither one is ready to admit just how far in they are. I love the angst and emotion the author pours into her characters. You want to just hug it out with them. But once everything is out there and the walls are dropped it's a beautiful thing, family friends and a whole lot of love. Betraying those close to you is hard to forgive but standing up for the love you want makes it worth it all. Great story from a new to me author. I love her style and her characters and yes this was a stand a lone read with carryover characters. I plan on reading more of her work.

3.5 stars I’m always down for a good surprise pregnancy book and Persuading Perfection is that and more! In love with her brother’s best friend Zach for years but knowing that road leads to nothing but heartbreak, Jade has settled for nothing more than hookups with him. Their secret has been hidden for years until it comes crumbling down with a positive pregnancy test. Zach has always loved Jade but she’s kept him at a distance only allowing him hookups and nothing more. Seeing this pregnancy as his chance to prove to her he’s the one for her he relentlessly shows her how much she means to him. The chemistry between Zach and Jade is off the charts. The heat between them is intense. And the banter? Omg! Hilarious! These two can go back and forth with sarcasm like nobody’s business. While I loved their banter and the sparks that flew, I did find myself pretty frustrated with Jade at times. While their past makes her reluctance to trust Zach understandable, eventually it got old. Stubborn is an understatement for her when it came to opening her eyes to the man who was patiently standing right in front of her. I found myself cheering for Zach as he one by one took on blow after blow while proving himself to not just Jade, but her family.
