The description of this edition of 'Peter and the Wolf' on the Barnes & Noble website especially appealed to me on account of the reference to an introductory illustration showing each of the characters with his corresponding (musical) instrument, a feature I was especially intent on finding for my purpose of educating my young grandchildren. Having now received the book I ordered, however, I am disappointed that there was no introductory illustration nor images of any of the musical instruments that are a key feature of this enchanting story, though the illustrations are otherwise very pleasing.

This is such a classic story. It would have been nice if the illustrations were more child friendly.

This story is a must for any parent who reads to their child. It is a great way to introduce classical music and the instruments of the orchestra to children. I read this to my two year old son every night and he is not afraid of the big bad wolf.

We loved this wondeful version of Peter and the Wolf! The reviewer who gave it only one star must not have flipped the tape over because it sure played for more than 10 minutes. Peter and the 'ferocious' Wolf . . . we enjoyed it tremendously!

We love this story and have 3 different Peter and the Wolf books. My daughter who is 3-1/2 loves this one the best.
