About the Author

Nicholas “Bright” Chase is an illustrator and concert-music composer. Bright has illustrated for magazines and book covers in the US. Petunia Is A Very Busy Cat is Bright’s first illustrated book, inspired by the real-life of his fur-legged companion, Petunia.

As a performer, Bright is known for integrating animation with live performance and composing musical scores that are considered visual art. His printed music works have been featured in art magazines and books around the world.

Like his illustration and animated design, Bright’s sound brings together unusual elements to create an “other worldly” (Exposé, US) singular picture. Sonically, he draws from his studies in Hindustani raga, the traditional music of his native Syria, and early western classical music to create a “refined modern classical minimalism” (Vital Weekly, NL). Recordings of Bright’s music are out on Cold Blue Music, available from the usual music outlets.
