The text is comprised of readings from major philosophical texts, which are accompanied by commentary from author John Chaffee to guide students in their understanding of the topics. I've never rented a book from Barnes and Noble before, but thought I'd give it a try.  I rented this book for my philosophy class, but the book they sent me smells like cat pee.  I called them and they told me that I would have to send this book back to get another one.  When I said that my class was starting and I needed a book immediately, she told me that I could order a new rental book and then return this rental book under the 21 day rental period.  Unfortunately, the book smells so bad that I can't even use it.  I'm supposed to read chapter one and whenever I try I nearly throw up.  It's great that I can send the book back, but that doesn't help me this week when I have no book.  I think B & N should have rushed me a new book, but they were unwilling to do anything except credit me the shipping charge.  I will never rent from them again.
