The title of this book, Pipeliners Are Human, sounds unusual. The book introduces human factors principles to people in the pipeline industry. Human Factors takes information about us-our abilities, our limitations, our behaviors-and applies this information to the design of tools, machines, computer systems, tasks, jobs, and the work environment. The book is designed to present useful information with a minimum of text, a maximum amount of illustrations, and a mixture of photographs, cartoons, humor and stories. A person should be able to read the book in a couple of hours, and then apply some of the lessons immediately.
