About the Author

Etsuko Bushika (1928-) was born in Tokyo, Japan. She is a children’s author and poet. Her children’s song collections “Kowareta Omocha (Broken Toys)” won the Akai Tori Literary Award and the Japan Children’s Song Award. Her poetry collection Neko Zenmai (Cat Spring) won the Sankei Children’s Book Award and the Japan Children’s Song Award. Her French language version of “Pittsun-tsun” (Plic Plac Ploc) was selected for the Baby Readers’ Prize 2013 by The Multimedia Libraries and the Department for Childhood of the City of Nanterre.
