Chapter OneOnce upon a time, there was a little Pixie. She thought she had all she wanted. She had all the fixings! "See you later Mother. I am going on a journey."
Pixie went along and went her way. She thought she had all day. But night time fell. All went dark and Pixie lost her way. Pixie lost her heart. This is not such a lark.
The moon was full and round, but Pixie could not rise off the ground. "Oh my! Oh my! This is not what I thought I would find when I went so far away."
She thought and thought and then decided, "Mother must be thinking where could Pixie have gone wandering."
So Pixie gazed up into the sky and said, "Why look at the stars laughing off their heads!" "Fly, fly up into the sky," they said. "Then we will tell you why!"
So she spread her wings and to her surprise she lifted right off the ground. She danced and sang a song. "Oh what magic have I done? I cannot wait till I see the Man in the moon, maybe he will smile then I will swoon."
Above her face, the stars grew bigger. They pointed with their fingers. They asked, "This way or that way. Is it North, South, East or West?" How would a little Pixie know which way to go!
She danced until she was dizzy. Pixie thought however will I just get busy? But her little wings were strong and kept her steady until the stars said, "We will be happy to guide you back to your little eddy."
"How will I know from up so high? All I can do is just keep flying! "Then the Big Dipper of the North Star replied "Hop on my twinkling light and I will give you a ride that is just so right.
