The broad field of plastic surgery is covered in aconcise manner in this book. As the title implies, the natural historyof plastic surgery indication and outcomes are discussed. The uniquepurpose of this text is to emphasize outcome and to direct readers tothink in terms of outcomes, under the guidance of a renownedepidemiologist. The above goal is met in excess of expectations with alist of Who's Who in plastic surgery. The target audience is bothplastic surgeons in training and in active clinical practice. Theseries is written by multiple credible authors who are experts in theirgiven subject matter. The editorial staff is effective in providing auniform focus. All major aesthetic and reconstructive subjects arecovered, in addition to ethical and practice related issues. Thelayout of each chapter is easy to follow, with the focus on treatmentindications and their outcomes. The illustrations are excellent andpleasing to the eye, with aesthetic volume in color. This bookrepresents an outstanding contribution to general plastic surgery. Theeditors condense a large amount of material to provide a solid overviewof the subject. Readers who require specific detail on a given subjectcan access the current references which contain detail useful to anexpert. This book represents a text without major comparison due tothe general nature with an emphasis on outcome. It is recommended toall with an interest in the art of plastic surgery.
