Hey Julia, I absolutely loved your work. Playing Dead is the best I've read in some time. The highest compliment I can pay you is to suggest Gus and Woodrow would really like Tommie and Sadie and the Larry would admire your efforts. Congrats on a really great story. Ross Edward Puskar

The plot was confusing at times but staightened out in the end.

An interesting story line about a woman finding out about her true past (involving witness protection and mobs). Takes place in Texas, lots of trucks and guns, leaves a lot to be explained.  Not terrible though.

I have read only half of this book, to page 154. I won't be reading any further. The story has failed to capture my interest and it has had more than enough time to do so. The main character is so up her own butt it's exasperating. None of the nuance or humanity of a character in a well-written book to be found here, I'm afraid. All the other characters are two- or even one-dimensional. The author seems to think that describing everything a person is wearing in brand name and color description somehow counts as character development. WRONG. It's like a seventh grader wrote it. This book is just so wrong and boring, I wish I hadn't wasted the time or $2. I Don't even care how it ends...I could not care less about the story line.

The first half of this book was a bit slow, but the second half definitely made up for it! Give this one a chance!

I look forward to more from this writer. This story is part mystery, part thriller and part human drama. I could not put it down and it's been a fewbooks since I've said that.

The story line rambled and there was a lot of detail and emphasis on minutia. Lack of character development. Everything was cliche Texas. But it wasn't completely boring.

I enjoyed parts of the story but found the author to ramble on without saying anything that moved the story forward. I was outrageously disappointed at how all the secrets came to light in the end. Very anticlimatic. Not a complete waste of $2 but had the potential to be much better.

This book kept me very intrigued and wanting to know more with every new chapter. This book seems to have it all, love, lies, action and suspense.

I liked Tommie and her family. I want to see Hudson in his boxers. Writer knows how to build characters.
