This book was smoking Hot! This is a 3 part erotica novel with the theme of medical professionals. Being a nurse I can say I loved this theme because there are a lot of hot doctors and interns out there that you can't help but fantasize about. I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review. In my opinion this book has something for every erotica romance novel lover. Although at times I missed my happy endings at the end of one of the stories I still felt like it was a great read. I loved the first two stories and while the third one was good as well it did not have the scorching hot flames that the first two stories had. I felt as though the first story brought you into the appeal of the older woman, the second brought you the more the merrier and the third brought you a proper Miss who wants to walk on the wild side. The Intern= Dr. Lauren Marks's needs all the help she can get to run her medical practice after her husband leaves her high and dry. Courtney needs a summer internship to get the experience he needs to help him decide just what kind of doctor he wants to be. Although they attempt to fight the attraction they realize it is a lost cause. Starting a romance that may have been unexpected but exactly what the doctor ordered! My Doctor, My Husband, and Me= This title tells you exactly what to expect. Valerie has the hots for her Doctor and she thinks he may feel something as well. So what does a mature woman who knows exactly what she wants do? She makes an offer that neither her husband or her doctor can refuse. Whoever said 3's a crowd was crazy because Valerie was having the time of her life. Seize the Doctor= Nikki is ready to step into a new chapter in her life. After meeting a cute guy in the club that she felt could be the one, she completely get's turned off by his loser friends. She cant help but be upset that he is involved in their childish games. Thinking she would never see him again, she is completely taken by surprise when the door to her exam room opens up and the Cutie from the club walks in! All three stories were great. Good job Kate Allure, I would definitely recommend this book. It has enough heat to keep you warm on these cold winter nights!
This book contains three separate stories that all revolve around one of the characters being a doctor. Each story is fairly short, and they all focus on a woman who is at a point in her life where some change is needed and the journey she takes to make those changes. The Intern centered on Dr. Lauren Marks finding herself again after her divorce…and how her sexy, young summer intern helps her get back her self-confidence. My Doctor, My Husband, and Me was about a woman who was looks to spice up her love life by introducing another man into her bedroom after she starts fantasizing about her doctor. These two stories were just okay for me. They were certainly hot, but I just really wanted a bit more from them. The third story, Seize the Doctor, was my favorite. It felt like there was more to the story and more character development. I just loved Nikki and her friends, and the way that she and Hunter reconnect after their first meeting at the bar was too funny! Although this one moved fairly quickly as well, there just seemed to be more to the story to keep me engaged. There were plenty of hot and steamy times in all three stories and they were written well. I would just like to see a little more to each of the stories if future books in this series will have the same set-up. If you enjoy short stories with lots of heat then this one is for you. If you are looking for a story with a real happy ever after and not just a happy for now, then this one may be a bit lacking – but it sure brings the heat! I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A three story anthology, all having a central common theme of medical professionals, but each story has its own twist and set up before the adult-themed playing doctor games begin. The Intern, is an older woman – younger man story. She is devastated and reeling from a divorce, and his attentions boost her confidence and ego, and reawaken her sexuality. My Doctor, My Husband and Me is a fantasy come to life menagé story where Valerie gets her nerve up and finds willing participants. Lastly is Seize the Doctor, where new love is offered to a young woman after her last boyfriend was unfaithful, if only she can reach out to accept what this doctor is ordering. As a collection, these three stories worked well together, although some did work better than others in terms of character and plot development. Short stories are tricky – each word needs to count for three or four, and there isn’t time to methodically develop characters. In The Intern, my least favorite, the characters felt flat and Lauren, in particular, felt very ‘teen’ in attitude and approach. It made her quite difficult to reconcile with her character of ‘older woman’ and the whole story just didn’t work for me. Valerie’s tale in My Doctor, My Husband and Me presented characters that already had some solidity to them, and the blurring of the professional lines only added to the heat levels in this story. A straight M-F –M where it most certainly was pay attention to Valerie time for the encounter, the read was steamy and left an impression that it may not be just a one-off fantasy fulfillment. Lastly, Nikki is in for her yearly exam when who should be the doctor but the hot guy from the club she met earlier? Seize the Doctor has some clever interactions with the very discombobulated Nikki as she struggles with the embarrassment. She’s still reeling from her ex being unfaithful, but the hot doc may just be the cure for what ails her. Overall these weren’t bad, they just weren’t super steamy, leaning more to the ‘romantic’ side of things, without much window dressing. I am not a fan of purple prose, but some poetic license with the language and word choices: erotica isn’t always the place for anatomically correct verbiage. There were moments that needed to be tightened up, and the characters could have used a more solid sense of self from the beginning, but as an introduction to erotica of the softer variety, this collection works. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
The Intern is about a divorced doctor that runs a general practice in a small town. She takes on a young intern for the summer as a favor for a friend. She is surprised to find that he's very hot and she's attracted to him. Their antics are a little juvenile as they pursue each other. But when they finally give in to their desire, the sex is hot. I found the story pretty interesting. I just wish that there had been some variation to the wording. It came across a little clinical for me, but it was still stimulating. The ending felt rushed and even though you get a HEA, it's not a typical happy-ever-after ending. My Doctor, My Husband and Me was a slight step up in the maturity department. A middle-aged woman finds herself attracted to her foot surgeon and once her foot is healed, she invites him to participate in a menage-a-trois with her and her husband. The Doctor was hot. The sex was a bit hotter than in the first story. I was bothered at the beginning by the first-person point of view. Valerie's inner dialog seemed a bit strange, perhaps. Once again, the story just kind of ends without much resolution. Seize the Doctor was definitely the best story of the three. It is a romantic love story with some great moments of humor, humiliation, and falling in love. It even taps into the uncertainties you often feel when trying to get into a new relationship after being cheated on. Nikki and Hunter are an adorable, believable couple. I loved how the story ended. Overall, the three stories had potential. They could each easily be expanded into full novels with more detail and be captivating stories. My biggest complaint about the stories is the need for better editing. There was an over abundance of exclamation points that ruined key moments, especially the sex scenes. I give the whole set 3 stars, noting that the potential is there for better stories. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
