About the Author

Lisa grew up with an overactive imagination, strong encouragement from her parents, and an insatiable infatuation with the Peanuts gang. That infatuation—along with an impatience she has yet to outgrow—jump-started her love of writing. After all, why should she be forced to wait a whole week to read the stories of her favorite characters when she could create stories for them whenever she wanted?

That love of writing continued to grow, along with all those voices in her head, even during her assorted careers: first as a firefighter with the Baltimore County Fire Department, then a very brief (and not very successful) stint at bartending in east Baltimore, and finally as the Director of Retail Operations for a busy Civil War non-profit.

Lisa currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons, one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count.

You may find Lisa on Facebook at or reach her via email at She's also on Twitter @LBKamps, but admits she's still trying to figure that one out!

Playing It Up by Lisa B. Kamps is book 4 of The York Bombers Series. This book can be easily read as a standalone. It is a sports romance. This is a 5 star read. Playing It Up is about Zach and Haley. Zach is a hockey player for the York Bombers. He knows how to live life to the fullest. He loves women and women love him. Haley has seen Zach in action. She has no desire to become one of the women in Zach's harem. She is a fiercly, independent women that has found herself in a terrible violent relationship. When Zach realizes that Haley is in danger, he wants to help her. They are explosive when they are together. I loved their banter. This book is jam packed full of steamy, scorching hot passion and lots drama. This author has done an amazing job touching on the sensitive issue of domestic violence. I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down.

Playing It Up by Lisa B Kamps is the 4th book in the York Bombers series. There is obviously history with all the characters which I didn’t know because this was my first book in the series. I don’t feel like you HAVE to read the the other three books but I like knowing the history so I probably will at some point so I can catch up. I found the story to be good and I liked the characters. I think the lead lady Hailey is way more stubborn than me and I am pretty stubborn. I say that because there is no way I would have resisted the hockey player lol! I mean she doesn’t resist forever but she held out longer then I would have. Anyway I did enjoy reading this. I don’t really have any constructive criticism to offer or anything. There is some violence and while the author I felt like did a good job someone might be sensitive to it. It was enjoyable and fun quick read. 4 star rating.

Playing It Up is the fourth book in the York Bombers Hockey series by Lisa B. Kamps, and just like the first three books this one does not miss a beat. I read through this book in one sitting because it was so good, making it probably the one of the best books I have read in quite awhile. I actually went out and bought the first three books once I got into this one just so I could go back and read the entire series again it was that good. I have read several of Kamps’ books in the past and they have not disappointed in the least. Playing it Up centers around Zach and Addison, Zach being the winger of the York Bombers and Addison being a free spirited no commitments type gal, these two seem to hit it off from the beginning on paper, but the more intense the chemistry gets the more they attempt to push each other away. Fighting that pull is what makes the book so good, cause the fighting just leads to more intense coming togethers. This book was hot, intense and full of great story lines that shows the ancillary characters as well. I can’t wait to see if there are more books in this series or any other new series that Kamps brings out.

Playing It Up: A York Bombers Hockey Romance (The York Bombers Book 4) by Lisa B. Kamps is the fourth book in her The York Bombers series. This book can be read as a standalone. This is my first book by this author but I am will be going back to read the previous three books in this series. I enjoyed this author's writing style as it is such that it pulls you into the story from the first word. Her creative details will keep the story flowing and engaging until the last page. Her characters will take you on a journey of fighting will against will, passion and suspense. They will take you through some twists and turns that you will not see coming but will keep you going back for more. There are some situations in this book that will make you cry and you will connect with. This story is about Zack and Haley. Zack is a hockey player that uses that to get women. He has never come across a woman that has not liked him, that is until he meets Haley. Haley lives her life as she pleases and has no desire to be just another notch in Zack's belt. What will happen when Zack comes to rescue Haley? She has a past that stops her from relationships. Will she learn to heal before it is to late to have a future? Will he have the patience to wait for her or will he walk away? These are two great characters. They have such chemistry and attraction that they are not sure what to do with it themselves. She is strong but yet broken. She is determined to pull her life together and make it hers. Zack just wants to help her but she makes things difficult for him. Zack is the gorgeous hockey player but yet I am not so sure about his character, maybe that is why I love him so much, I don't know. Together these to are feisty and their relationship didn't start out the way you would think. But they grow throughout the story which is great to see. The secondary characters are just as strong and hopefully we will get to see more of them in their own books down the line. They have their own stories to tell that we only get little bits and pieces of. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens with Zack and Haley. Be prepared to cry, laugh and just feel compassion for them!

Zach comes off as a tough guy and Haley appears to be pretty tough too. She's got a pretty serious secret that Zach finds out about. He wants to help and protect her but she seems to want no part of it. He's pretty persistent and the chemistry between the two is pretty explosive! This is the 4th book in the Bombers series but easily read as a stand alone. You'll just want to go back and read the others once you've finished this one!!

Playing It Up is the fourth book in the York Bombers series. As with the author's other books, the action is hot and steamy, so definitely 18+. While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. As a hockey fan, I always like the hockey action, but like how this book also highlighted that off the ice the players are real people with issues just like the rest of us. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Another awesome addition to the York Bombers series! Zach and Haley know each other from friends and the bar she works at where he and his teammates hang out after games. Once Zach and Haley get past their verbal sparring and over some initial difficulties with Haley's denial that she is having any problems with her ex beau, things actually go quite well between them. Turns out that verbal sparring was backed with passion and feelings for each other. They have a lot in common and actually are a very compatible couple. I love that Zach wants to be her champion but I also love that Haley wants to be her own champion. These two are sweet, sexy and steamy and have you rooting for them from the get-go. Love the epilogue!!
