About the Author

Tara Chevrestt is a deaf woman, former aviation mechanic, dog mom, writer, and editor. You'll never see her without her Kindle or a book within reach. As a child, she would often take a flashlight under the covers to finish the latest Nancy Drew novel when she was supposed to be sleeping. Tara is addicted to Law&Order: SVU, has a crush on Cary Grant, laughs at her own jokes, and is constantly modifying recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. Her theme is Strong is Sexy. She writes about strong women facing obstacles-in the military, with their handicaps, or just learning to accept themselves. Her heroines can stand alone and take care of themselves, but they often find love in the process.

Plotting to Win by Tara Chevrestt is a book about a game show "The Next Bestselling Author" where 7 contestants compete for $100,00 and a contract with a publishing house. Each contestant is from a different writing genre so that they are not all writing the same thing. The two main characters are Felicity James and Victor Guzman, but you get to meet the other 5 contestants and see the different points of view and interaction with them. I was a little disapponted with the book. Not that the book was bad, but it felt more like a book about how to write, publish, promote, and edit a book rather than a romance. I just kept asking myself where is the romance between Felicity and Victor? One kiss and they are head over heals for each other? It just didn't seem right. I learned ALOT about everything that goes into the creation and publishing of a books, from picking the right editor, to how to chose cover art. Although there were some really funny situations with the contestants, the book was short, only 13 chapter, and I just keep feeling like I was missing something and could not connect with these two characters no matter how hard I tried. Now, just because this book was not my cup of tea, doesn't mean that you might not love it. Remember that this is only my opinion and what do I really know. :) So if you are looking for a quick, funny read about how to be become the next bestselling author, go out and get a copy of this book. You might feel differently than I did about this book and I would welcome you to let everyone know your opinion.
