Pocket Full of Dreams by Donna Rostad

Joe, a young man, follows a dream he shared with his grandfather—to build a ranch in Montana. It was the early forties when Joe headed West, unaware of the adventures ahead of him. Sara, the love of Joe’s life, soon joins him on his journey.

You will find yourself involved in the lives of three generations, sharing adventures filled with romance, mystery, and secret lives. You will laugh and cry witnessing corruption and even murder in the small lazy town.

Meet Fred, Joe’s best friend, as he gets involved in Joe’s dream to build his ranch. Step into Lily’s Café and eavesdrop on the gossip as the locals share the ups and downs of everyday living. Help Marie to deal with her love for Doc Pete and the secret that keeps them apart. Get involved with Marie’s son, Bobby, and his escapades. Find out what happens to Dean, Joe and Sara’s long lost son. Try to understand Julie, a woman “full of deceit.” It’s easy to fall in love with Surefoot, who was once a famous racehorse, but now blind, as she deals with her mischievous colt, Freddy.

This is a tale where heroes die, villains live, and people survive as they live in a world of constant change.

About the Author

Donna Rostad was born in Butte, Montana, experiencing the last few years of the great depression, following the crash on Wall Street. People were still struggling and suffered many hardships. The closeness of Donna’s family kept them together throughout her life. She spent a big part of her life with her granny in a small town nestled in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains in Montana.
She finished her education and met Larry, the love of her life, when he walked into the drugstore where she was working. He had recently returned home after serving three years in the navy. They immediately knew it was their destiny to spend their lives together. Struggling during the early years of their marriage, business became Donna’s passion. With perseverance and hard work, she became very successful, taking advantage of any quiet time to write children’s stories.
Blessed with four children with three generations to follow, later years were spent enjoying their ranch in Wyoming. After coping many years with Larry’s Alzheimer’s, she felt it was in his best interest to move to Arizona. In 2014, Donna’s family insisted it was time to take their father to a memory care center.
Her love for Montana and the memories became the inspiration for her book; the characters and events came to life as she started to write. She wants to encourage you to never quit dreaming.
