Chapter One

Alexis Marlar

Your Mom and Dad kept a great big secret.
It was hard for them we know.
They didnt want for us to guess.
We had to wait we knew it best.
But they kept us waiting at the door.
Two more hours, how much more?
The day you came we were so glad.
Youre the best little secret they ever had.

Another Fathers Day

Today we celebrate another Fathers Day,
It is a day for rejoicing and a day for play.
With a great big cup of coffee or whatever he may drink,
This is the day we celebrate and tell him what we think.
We will remind him how much he means to us each and every day,
And try to make him see that we appreciate him all the way.
He helps us with our homework, and teaches us his skills,
Throughout the year he guides us although we have strong wills.
Our Fathers will teach us the lessons that we all need to know,
They will help to get us by and help us as we grow.
So as we celebrate Another Fathers Day,
We just want to thank you; we are your modeling clay.
So teach us all you can and when we all celebrate,
We will tell everyone we know, that we think Youre Great.

Happy Fathers Day to All the Dads we know and Love

April Fools

Be careful what you do today,
You may become a fool.
Don't believe all that you may hear,
Over you eyes they pull the wool.
Oh look it snowed, or taste how sweet,
Go look for yourself, be careful what you eat.
I have been fooled myself before,
"Go see who it is outside the door".
Beware of those who are too eager,
To have fun with you oh please.
Be ready for them get them back,
And bring them to their knees.
It starts off pretty early,
So please be on your toes.
How they may try to trick you,
One really never knows.

Because I started off the day by telling Mike it
snowed early this morning. I'm bad. Sorry Mike!!

Being

As the day pushes on,
The sun beats down upon us.
The children in the streets around,
Because of the hunger start to fuss.
What has happened to the longing hearts,
Of our younger days?
We become the cynic of that other
generation, and its harsher ways.
Let again the masses feel,
The tenderness within.
That only love and caring,
And Being will begin.

The Best Ill Ever Have

I always dream about the good times.
Try to forget about the bad.
But in spite of all the hardships youre the best I ever had.
I never tell you all the times I think of holding you so close.
Sometimes I fear it will end too soon.
Its what really hurts me the most.
We always think well have forever and one day more is not enough.
So Im telling you how much you mean to my heart and to my life.
Youre the one that makes me happy Im so glad I am your wife.
Youve let me win some fights weve had although you may be right.
And youre always there to hold me close in the middle of the night.
I always dream about good times.
Lets forget about the bad.
Through all the years Ive been with you youre the best Ill ever have.

I may not have won the trip to Paris, but I have the real prize.

A Birthday Wish to You

You know Happy Birthday the song that we sing,
Sometimes like a bird, but sometimes like a bee sting.
Wishing you the best to make another year,
Now that you're older don't cry into your beer.
Thought that you might need some good words of advice,
But it wont be from this friend because I am too nice.
Enjoy this your day with family and friends,
All hope that the party for you never ends.
Till next year this time you'll have plenty to do,
The days will go faster you'll think they're too few.
So lets just say A Birthday wish to you,

That you'll always remember that we do care its true.

Maybe not the best of my work, but I
completed this just in time for the big
Surprise party. So were you surprised???
Mike and I wish you the best, with
many happy returns of the Day!

Boys

Boys are always in a hurry running each and every day,
There isn't anything that can stop them, so dont get in their way.
They are always climbing something from a table to a tree,
And times they are in that hurry, and end up with a scraped knee.
Boys can always find something to build, or merely to tear down,
Not happy when they hear a NO! And give a great big frown.
Stepping in a big water puddle, or something very smelly,
It really makes one laugh and giggle in the belly.
Take a bunch of household things, and then you add some string,
Opening a door could be a trick, or just about anything.
They will build a new contraption and call it something clever,
And youll tell them to build again, that contraption never.
When we often think of Boys, its often with a sigh,
That makes a Mother scratch her head, and just to wonder why.

Yes boys are very busy all the time; I know two that at times make
me wonder too! Got to Love Um!

Born November 7, 2006

Hello to you our new dear one,
We know that you'll be lots of fun.
Your Mom and Dad are truly blessed,
Of course that goes for all the rest.
Well give you love from year to year,
Youll hear our voices give a cheer.
Alexis will be right by your side,
Shell hold your hand and help you stride.
We give thanks to him from up above,
For sending you our little love.

You're special in our Hearts!
Love and Hugs,

Bubbles

I love to blow my bubbles,
They are so light you see.
And it really mystifies,
As they go right by me.
The tiny shimmering bubbles that lift into the air.
I tried and tried to catch them,
But they were no longer there.
How they made me giggle,
How they made me laugh.
I go right through the bottle,
It seems they go so fast.
And my Grandma will get me more of them,
Because she doesn't think they'll last.

Today Morgan, Michael & I were outside playing
with a bottle of bubbles. Morgan was having
such a good time blowing bubbles and spilling the
bottle. It was quite a bit of fun for all of us.

A Celebration of Love

We were on our way to Vegas,
To celebrate 30 years of bliss.
And by the road we got to see,
The sights you should not miss.
The weather it did vary from,
You never really knew.
The mountains down to 53,
The desert 102.
We got to see the sunrise,
And set on many days.
And through the scattered clouds,
The most beautiful of rays.
It was so very special,
And we wont forget to soon.
We were so very lucky,
For we got to see the Blue Moon.
All through our many miles,
And hours on the road.
There will still be many a story,
Of sights for us untold.
But over the Great Mountains,
And through the Golden Plains.
We had many sunny times,
And a little rain.
We took the time to stop and see,
The beauty of the land.
And for this we give our thanks,
For all thats in Gods Hands.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

You mix a little batter,
And add the chocolate chips.
You take out your special scoop,
And make a dozen dips.
You bake them in the oven,
And let them cool a bit.
You get a glass of milk,
And on the couch you sit.
You savor every mouthful,
And you mustn't drop a crumb.
You have to lick your fingers,
And don't forget your thumb.

Christmas Cheer

You say that it is Christmas; do you
think that we don't know?
Just look all around you, we are
six feet deep in snow.
The stores are out of everything, from
slippers, sweaters, and toys that sing.
The children have visited Santa's Chair,
some with smiles, and some tears.
But we all know what he has done; His Ho
Ho Ho has lifted away their fears.
We all enjoy the Holiday spirit that
grows throughout this season.
The Christmas joy that fills our hearts,
now that's just one great big reason.
So spread the Christmas Cheer I
say, and raise your glass today.
To the best gift we can give and share,
and show how much we really care.
Peace, Joy, and Love we give to
you, because it is our way.
Best wishes to all of you, on
this our Christmas day!

Christmas 2006

Once more its time to spread good cheer,
To all our loved ones to last the year.
Good tidings we then bring this time,
And hope that you don't mind the rhyme.
We have traveled far to see Key West,
Mike and I sure did enjoy the rest.
The palms, the ocean, the Dolphins too,
And the hours we spent there were too few.
Our trip out East was a lot of fun,
We loved to visit everyone.
The time was short to visit all,
But our door is open so give us a call.
As you may now know our family has grown,
And some of you have heard by phone.
Blake Marlar has just arrived its true,
And he sure looks good in his blue.
Michelle & Marc, Jeremy & Jenny
are parents so very proud,
At times you see them just walking on the clouds.
How lucky we as the parents are,
With now 4 Grandchildren we
thank our lucky stars.
There's Morgan & Michael, Alexis & Blake,
Now that would seem to just take the cake.
We keep very busy most of the days,
With too much to do I have asked for a raise.
But Michaels the boss and he told me quite clear,
"If you want a raise you must wait till next year."
We think of you often, as you all well know,

Through good times and bad
with you our hearts go.
May this be a season of Peace, Joy, and Love,
Can you feel that our warmth
fits just like a glove?
So until next year we will end with a prayer,
That you all will see how much we do care.
To family, friends, both old and new,
Salutations & Love to all that is true.

Christmas Day is Here Today

Christmas day is here today with thoughts of joy and cheer,
It is the day the grown-ups dread and reach right
for a beer.
The stores weren't packed at times I think,
Or was that because too much I drink.
The toys are strung from here to there,
The noise it fills the frosty air.
The food too much but bring us more,
Maybe next year Santa should bring a wider door.
The bills they mount from shopping I could not stop,
I spent and spent until I dropped.
The news they drown with economic dread,
There is a recession they have finally said.
For twelve months we thought of all we must buy,
To Washington the Big Three all had to fly.
Can the banks loan us money to pay off the bills,
Maybe next year we should lay off the frills.
In 2009 we should make all our own gifts,
And hope that the stock market finally shifts.
Don't spend too much money and don't use our cards,
If you start saving now you wont find it hard.
No I'm not a cynical one for this is my favorite day
of the year,
Christmas day is here today with thoughts of joy and
cheer.
I think we must look at the bigger picture today. Enjoy
and love our Family and Friends, and remember those not
as fortunate.
We are blessed!
Written to help relieve some holiday stress.

The Christmas Gift

Some people think it takes a lot to give a Christmas gift,
But to those of you who know the truth it is a real lift.
You do not need any money or postage to really care,
The gift of Christmas in the past is
the one you need to share.
For we know on Christmas Jesus was
sent to save us from our sins,
And with the gift our Lord has sent,
you know you really win.
So don't feel bad if this year is lean without much that you may give,
The gift was already given so that we can truly live.
Be kind to one another throughout the coming year,
Give of yourself to others and it will be quite clear.
That it isn't the gift that you can
hand or mail to those you love,
But the one that lives inside you heart
that warms you like a glove.
So when you want to know the gift
I need this Christmas day,
Please remember that you can give me
the gift that will always stay.

Christmas is not always about the money, or the gifts we
give. But, it is the knowledge that if we have given of
ourselves, we truly give the best gift of all.

Christmas Time Celebrations

Christmas Time Celebrations for Family
and the warmth that surrounds,
A blanket of love that surely will abound.
Through snow and bad weather, our
cards can make their way,
And hopefully for all of you brighten up your day.
We cant be with all of our loved ones, family, and friends,
But sending you well wishes is one of our favorite trends.
So enjoy how you celebrate whether
lighting candles or your trees,
Remember to say a pray for all on your bended knees.
To keep each one warm and safe throughout the season,
A bit of good cheer sure will be pleasing.
So Merry Christmas Time Celebrations
for our family and our friends,
Our best in the New Year, good thoughts we will send.

Daycare

Some people are meant to do daycare,
And others not so much.
While watching children for a day,
For me I feel out of touch.
What happened to the days,
When listening was the thing?
Good manners with please and thank you,
They really had a ring.
I used to pride myself on having such restraint,
But watching children all day long
just makes me want to faint.

Eagles Fly

The Eagles still fly way up high,
Over the land of the free.
I'm so glad that they are there,
Watching over me.
And for those who want to Pledge Allegiance,
Under God to thee.
Why those who love this county
wont, please just let it be.
The ones that wont stand when our colors pass,
Or place their hands over their hearts.
You make me realize, that it is
because you lack the smarts.
Don't you realize the sacrifices that
have been made its true?
The men and the women that will fight for you.
So when you start today,
In whatever is your way,
Remember your freedom, and be
glad that you are free,
I'm so very glad that the Eagles
still watch over me.
God Bless the USA

Easter

This is a very special day,
I'm sure you know by now.
Its not for us to know the why,
And even wonder how.
But Jesus gave his life for us,
So that we can all begin.
To help him towards his major goal,
To wash away all sin.

Easter Day

This is a Happy Easter Day,
I tell you it is true.
We get to start the day out right,
We get to start a new.
For Christ has died upon the cross,
And took our sins away.
Give Jesus thanks from your heart,
Let this be the day.
He gave his life so you could see,
And the world someday will know.
That with his sacrifice for us,
The entire world can grow.
Let peace and love show you the way,
Enjoy this Happy Easter Day.

The Easter Eggs

With Easter time within our grasp,
Its time for us to hide the eggs.
The little ones will get the most
that have the fastest legs.
So boil up a dozen, or even maybe two.
You wouldn't want for any kid to
think they have too few.
Color them so very bright for all of us to see.
Who will find the most this year?
Oh could it please be me!
Well hide them in the flowers,
or even in the grass.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, you must be very fast.
Lets not forget the Easter Bunny,
For in some plastic eggs hell hide his money.
Its fun to watch the children,
They are so very dear.
Can you find a basket full it isn't very clear?
So go ahead and look for them,
the Easter eggs you seek.
But when they're being hidden, be
sure that you don't peek!

Fall Things

We look out from our windows as
the changes are taking place.
And know that winters coming
it is a thrilling race.
Leaves are turning warm with colors
that we have known as fall.
With such pretty colors the children
will want to keep them all.
The morning air fills with a crispness
we must leap and cheer.
There is a smell of a freshness we
long for throughout the year.
Pumpkins and scary things will
start to adorn our yards.
It will hasten us to get out our Christmas cards.
Children rake leaves into mighty
piles ready for their big jump.
They better be quite careful
or they will get a bump.
This season is still willing to give up
its warmth in the afternoon sun.
The mornings can be cold you see
but then there is the fun.
So gentle are the breezes that blow
golden leaves onto the ground.
Not too far behind them we
are very snowy bound.
There are thoughts of pumpkin pie and
caramel apple treats we know.
