The students at a New York City school discovered how important poetry can be even in the busiest lives when they asked journalists, politicians, musicians, novelists, filmmakers, actors and poets, to send in their favorite verse with an explanation of why they chose it. This book presents works selected by 50 well-known people, from Jane Alexander to Elie Wiesel to Tom Wolfe, from Peter Jennings to Isabella Rossellini to Wendy Wasserstein. Line drawings throughout.

Poems for Life: Famous People Select Their Favorite Poem and Say Why It Inspires Them based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
My favorite book of poems. This little book originated by students at an all-girls prep school who wrote famous people, asking them what their favorite poem was and why. Some famous people responded such as Rudy Giuliani, Yo-Yo Ma, Joyce Carol Oates. The poems from those who responded are just as interesting as the poet whom they chose.
