About the Author

Arlyne Rojas is a native New Yorker, of Puerto Rican descent. Born and raised in the borough of the Bronx, the eldest of three sisters, childhood activities were centered around church activities, drawing, painting, singing and reading voraciously. Rojas earned a BA degree in Social Work/Sociology in 1989 from Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY) and practiced in nursing home, rehab, hospice and mental health settings. In 1996, She relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she enjoyed country living. She has worked within Alabama's public school system and in the retail industry. She currently lives in Dothan, Alabama with her husband and their three sons. Poems of Hope, Love and Freedom with a Dash of Protest is her first published work. Arlyne is currently working on her original song catalog, a second book of poems and two fiction novels, the first centered on three creative, funny sisters, and the second, showcases funny, heartwarming, and bitter-sweet realities of working for the average American corporate empire. In her spare time, Arlyne enjoys song writing, designing jewelry and gardening.
