Pointe Bookby Janice Barringer, Sarah Schlesinger
The first comprehensive book about dancing on pointe has just been updated. The authors offer useful information on how to fit, prepare, and maintain pointe shoes so they last as long as possible. But this is much more than a consumer's guide. Reference material on pointe work includes a brief historical review, discussion of the anatomy of the feet, common injuries and remedies, ways to break in pointe shoes, and various teaching methods. This book also includes interviews with professional ballet dancers. This revised edition offers the latest information on new products and suppliers.
