I am66. My mother was happily married until her death at 82. She also worked. She pointed out to me that every woman needed to be able to provide for herself and her family because you can't predict what will happen in life. You might marry a great guy whose salary is sufficient--but that greay guy could dump you for someone youger and thinner or die in a car accident or end up sick or disabled. You have to be prepared, she said. That is what this nookdoesn't teach girls.

All books of the P.I.G. series are meant to be controversial, and this will enrage extreme feminists. But those who care about the well-being of any young women (12--40) should agree that they deserve all the facts regarding such important decisions as sex, marriage, children, divorce, and career. This book isn't nearly complete in this regard, but is a plausible first step. Perhaps its best point is that organizations claiming to represent women's interests often try to conceal information not politically convenient for the groups. Unfortunately, the book does not cover some topics that would seem to be natural, e.g., health effects of contraceptives and the effectiveness (or not) of internet matchmaking services. Furthermore, the surprising number of printing errors undercuts many of the authors's good points, making me reluctant to give more than three stars.

Finally, a book that tells the truth! Most women AREN'T feminist men haters! However, just like in a barrel of apples...a rotten few can destroy it for everyone.

This book does a good job of debunking feminist myths that have brainwashed many young women. It is fun, yet substantive and succinctly written.

Some men don't think that this book isn't about them. My wife make one a good dinner and the best darn american apple pie, and she no dummy. I would not allow her to think that.
