About the Author

Jessie Kwak is a freelance writer and novelist living in Portland, Oregon. A native of the quiet rural town of Harrah, Washington, she's lived throughout the Pacific Northwest and has a deep love for the region's diverse geographies, climates, and cultures. When she's not scribbling away on her latest novel you can find her out mountain biking, hiking, sampling IPAs at a new brewpub, or road tripping with her husband. She has a BA in English from Seattle Pacific University.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Steve Terrill is a nationally known photographer who was born, raised, and continues to make his home in Portland, Oregon. His work has appeared in numerous publications including National Geographic Publications, National Wildlife Magazine, Audubon, Sierra Club, Travel & Leisure, Outdoor Photographer, Sunset Magazine, Bio Science, and more. Steve's images have been used for a number of advertising clients such as Nike, Timberland, Coldwater Creek, Honda, Kodak, Nikon, Microsoft, Epson, and Hewlett Packard and his photos have been displayed in the White House and Smithsonian. He's been featured in oneman gallery shows at The World Forestry Center and Maryhill Museum along with numerous showings in Pacific Northwest galleries. Steve's photography was recently selected to be used on a poster for the 100year anniversary of Oregon's iconic Multnomah Falls. He has also worked with Travel Oregon, Port of Portland, Oregon State Marine Board, Oregon Lottery, Oregon State Parks Foundation, POVA, and other Oregon state departments. To date, he has over twenty books to his credit from nature, history, cities, spiritual and educational topics.
