I learned Ashtanga Yoga from this book, which gives a step by step guide and many variations in learning this beautiful practice. I've done Bikram Yoga for years, so the heat never bothered me, but this practice just lit a fire in me for its non-stop continuous challenging flow. The effects its had on my life in other ways has been incredible. Physically I have new toned muscles where I never saw muscles before.

I've read some excellent books on yoga but this one is my favorite. Bender Birch presents true Astanga style yoga with clear, precise instructions and beautiful photography. The disciplined, carefully balanced routine of Power Yoga rejuvenated my practice, filled in missing pieces of the yoga puzzle for me, and helped me become a better yoga teacher. The author's writing style is enjoyable, candid, and very professional. I can't wait to read her next book, Beyond Power Yoga.
