This book helped me understand how to determine the true condition of a home before buying it. The book was very well organized - by the various aspects of a house - plumbing, electrical, heating, etc. What I really liked about this book was the fact that every concept has a really great illustration that helped me understand the home inspection process. If you are in the market for a new house, I would highly recommend this book. A house is a big purchase, and this book will help you understand if you're buying a house that's in mint condition, or one that's a lemon.

This book is just what its title states: it is a practical guide to home inspection. It uses straightforward language and clear illustrations to show one the issues to be aware of when inspecting a home. It is a valuable resource for potential home purchasers who are not necessarily aware of the many issues that they should look out for when making what is most often the largest purchase of their lives.
