First, this text is written for the aspiring software architect using the tools distributed for the DOT.NET 2.0 Foundation and utilities designed for Visual Studio 2005. One needs to follow the bouncing ball carefully, as there are many acronyms that need to be mastered to follow the plan. As I am an aspiring developer, some of the content was a little steep for me, but the authors provided excellent explanations and references for discovering information you need to completely consume the subjects presented. The Case Study results in a Visual Studio Template that has the basic projects provided for, in this case, a Click-Once application supported by a database back end with access through a web service. Text also offered guidance on how to create the template and distribute it for end users. The authors did a good job in providing a possible game plan for architecting a product for use in a specific industry, where many of the operating requirements and assets have been analyzed and a foundation for development using Visual Studio. If there is a down side, I wish they had chosen to print the book in a larger type face¿
