I received the Precious Moments Storybook Bible for review. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas. It is a beautifully illustrated Bible Story book. Precious Moments characters are so sweet. It has big print that is perfect for beginner readers. I do recommend it for ages up to 6-7. It starts out with a section to write in: "this bible belongs to, presented by, occasion, and date; Family Tree, Church Record, My Favorite Things" Followed by Favorite Bible Classics (stories) In the back of the book there are Songs and Prayers such as The B I B L E and Amazing Grace and bedtime and mealtime prayers. At the end of the book your child can write their own bedtime prayer.

The Precious Moments Storybook Bible is a bible created for young children. It is broken into four different sections: Favorite Bible Classics, Words of Praise and Wisdom, More Stories of the Faith, and Songs & Prayers. The book is filled with many pictures. When reading children's bible, or storybook bibles such as this, my main focus is not on the pictures or how easy it is to understand, but the accuracy of the scripture used; it can be difficult to make a children's bible understandable for the child and also scripturally accurate. I believe that while this bible leaves out some detail that small children might not understand, it does a pretty decent job in maintaining scriptural accuracy. I believe that it is the parents' job to fill in the missing pieces of each story so that the children do not think of these as ONLY stories, but as accurate accounts of real past events. I do, however, think that while precious moments characters are cute and cuddly, they give children even more of a false belief that these stories are nothing more than just stories. I believe that this book is a good starting point in teaching your children about the Bible and the characters of the Bible, and I would recommend it to others only if they are willing to take the stories a step further, and to emphasize that they are in fact real stories that happened a long time ago.

I am satisfied with this book. The art work and illustrations were entertaining and they held my daughter's interest while we are reading the various Bible stories. She can't read yet but it's encouraging to see that she excitedly turns the pages on her own while I read and tell her the story. I'm sure she will appreciate reading this book when she gets to learn how to read someday because of its large and readable text which is great for beginners. There are also section for children's songs or hymns, special prayers and a presentation section with family tree - which make the book more interesting for children. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I wish I received it sooner for it to be a Christmas present but still, it really doesn't matter at all. It's a perfect gift toddlers and children who love to read not only at Christmas but for birthdays and other occasions as well. You don't even need a special occasion just to get this book, it's worth buying any day of the week.

I just received this storybook bible from Tommy Nelson Publisher and love it to bits. It's really a beautiful and lovable storybook bible, and I think children will love it too. The book is beautifully illustrated with selected biblical stories in it. Done with water-colour like illustration. This book is also in hardcover and it's also in large print. Perfect for as a gift and a keep sake. This book contains hymn and prayers and also family tree page where children can put their names and keep track of their families in it. Beautiful book, and I give this 4 out of 5 stars. Do not expect that this book is a complete bible, though. It contains only a selection of famous and well known biblical stories, and therefore, if you're looking for something more comprehensive for your children, this book is not for you. This book is perfect for bedtime story sessions, though.

This is a large hardback book with a soft, padded cover and it is a heavy thick book, with plenty of stories. The pictures are just adorable, like you would expect from Precious Moments, but they are even nicer then many I have seen. The pages are full of bright color with nice borders, instead of the small pastel picture in the center of a white page that you used to see in some Precious Moments books. I love how the pages with the writing are decorated, as well. I am pretty picky about what I classify as a "Children's Bible". I don't think I could put this book in that category, but it is VERY close. I would call it a Bible story book with excellent upgrades. :) It has some very special parts, such as the birthdate and baptism date pages in the front, which make it seem much more like a Bible. It also includes passages that you would not find in a Bible story book, including selections from Psalms and Proverbs. The Bible stories are paraphrased from the International Children's Bible, and they include the chapter and verse references. However, it is hard for me to label something as a "Bible" when it only has some of the scriptures included and they are paraphrased to make them easier to read. Does that detract any from the value of this book? Not at all! In fact, I would say that this has to be one of the best Bible Storybooks I have ever seen. It is more complete then almost any other book for this age level, and it is very nicely done. Some of the included passages are "Jesus Teaches the People" from Matthew 6; "Protection and Guidance" from Psalm 121; "The Light of the World" from John 3; and "The King of Peace is Coming" from Isaiah 11. I would actually go so far as to recommend this book to every family with young children. There is just so much more here then in most Bible story books. There is even a section in the back with well-known hymns and prayers.

Who wouldn't love this darling Precious Moments Story book...? Every picture is true to the Precious moments series and is everything you would expect. Now of course this is what we expect from P.C. Right? But also included are information pages like who gave you the book, who owns it. Then we find places for church information such as Vacation Bible school attendance, church camps, and outing. You can even list your child's family tree and their favorite things. I love that the characters are not scary. The lion from Daniel in the lion's den could be called Pussycat Lion! This is important because so many pictures of Bible stories are quite terrifying to small children. My four year old granddaughter will love it! Brenda J. Wood

I couldn't help myself when I saw this book available for request on Booksneeze the other day, and when I finally received this book. I'd have to say that it doesn't disappoint. It's really a wonderful little bible book that's beautifully illustrated. It contains a lot of biblical stories from The Old testament, Hymns, prayers and also family tree section. This storybook bible is a large print version and the pictures are really soothing. This one's a gem, and perfect for a little boy or girl's keepsake. Love it a lot though the underside of it is that the book is not a complete bible-being a collection of selected stories from the bible. I couldn't get enough of this storybook bible, and I hope it will be available for electronic device readers in the future. I received this book free from Tommy Nelson Publisher, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review for any books that I received from them.

I have been anticipating this Precious Moments Storybook Bible for quite some time now, and boy was I pleased when this book was delivered to my doorstep. I'm completely in love with this storybook bible and it'll make a wonderful keepsake, for both boys and girls. This storybook bible contains stories from the Old Testament as well as prayers and hymn, and like most children bible, it's also in hardcover and large print with loads of beautiful pictures accompanying the word of God. This book is perfect for any parents who wants to use biblical stories as bedtime stories to their young children. I like this book alot, and I daresay the kids will too. The pictures used for this storybook bible is done so delicately and printed is light water-coloured effects. The pictures are cute and very soothing and is appropriate for each biblical stories. I rate this Bible storybook 5 stars our of 5, and I certainly hope there will be more of this kind of storybook in the market, for it will certainly captivate the heart of both young and old. I received this storybook bible free from Tommy Nelson Publisher, and I was not compensated in any ways for giving a positive review for it.

This cute little book is best suited very younger children. It is very large when it comes to the size of the written letters. There are pages in the front that talk about God and allow the small child to write down family heritage and facts about him- or herself. The only downside to this is that it is not a complete children's Bible. Rather, specific stories are included side-by-side vibrant illustrations in the Precious Moments cartoon style. This book should get youngsters interested in the Bible until they are big enough to read the entire Book on their own at a later age. It may be best for this to be read to children piece by piece. For adults, it's a nice respite in their day that is quick. Plus, unlike regular doctrine, many people forget the minute facts of particular Bible stories. Let this book refresh your memory. After all, God's stories are the best around. :)

I saw this lovely book available in Booksneeze. Can't help myself and requested it. It's a 179 pages of hardcover book. The first part of the book was a page where you can fill in the book belongs to who, by whom, on what occasion and date. Followed by pages for you to fill in the Family Tree, Church Record, My Favourite Things. Page 2 to Page 62 consists of "Favourite Bible Classic" like Creation. Garden of Eden, Noah, Moses, David and of course Jesus. Page 64 to page 101 are "words of Praise and Wisdom". I love this part. It's like a prayer. Then it was followed by "More Stories of The Faith" which consist of stories like Jonah, parables and the stories that Jesus told to teach people to be good and kind. Last but not least comes "Songs and Prayers". I don't really know the songs except from Amazing Grace. The prayers part are great. It's simple and easy to read. I think this is a good book for keep sake or as a gift for kids. Suitable for kids from age 5 to 10. My son is going to be 3 soon and he loves the pretty illustration in the book. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher, Thomas Nelson Publishing through the BookSneeze book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I thought this was a darling little bible. Perfect for gift giving as it includes a section of who it's presented by and who the bible belongs to. There's sections to record baptism information, first communion, vacation bible schools and more. The illustrations are beautiful, child like and sweet. Each story (from the Old and New testament) contain the bible verse so you can look it up yourself. Each story is a few pages long, just the right length to read at bedtime. One thing I liked is in the very back of the book there is a section for prayers (ex. bedtime) that you and the child create yourself and write in the book. This would be perfect to give as a gift to a young child/parent of faith.

I ordered a copy of the Precious Moments "Storybook Bible" to read and review and have been delighted with it! The "Precious Moments" illustrations are timeless and quite attractive to children. My little niece is only 2 years old, so while she is still a bit young to understand the stories, we've been enjoying looking through the illustrations with her and it has been so sweet to see her face light up with enjoyment as she sees the children drawn in different stories and situations. The "Storybook Bible" looks like it's made for just that, as something to be read to a child such as at bedtime. The stories are short and concise, filling up less than 3 pages each, and come with a couple illustrations per story. The stories are written in an easy to read and understand language for little ones from about ages 4 or 5 and on. It gives a good springboard to add to, comment or ask questions on. I've liked the way some of the Precious Moments Bibles for kids takes it from a different angle, not just listing the Bible stories in their chronological order, but by themed sections like this one. Some of the sections not just based on a story, but also drawing morals and character points from Bible passages and putting them in child friendly language to present to them. Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading it with my niece in the future once she's old enough.

The Precious Moments Storybook Bible is a wonderful gift for a young child that is sure to please. The print is large and the pictures are fantastic. The stories, cant be beat...straight out of the Bible! What a wonderful way to get young kids engaged in Biblical interest! kids want to learn about God, thats innate. This book is a great way to charge forward with them and help them ground their faith in visual confirmation, which young readers both need and enjoy. This bible brings the stories out of the bible to life and the book really is wonderful. If you have been struggling with a gift idea, no child is too young for this book; it really is great! i would not gift it to anyone above the age of like 8 -- but from birth to 8, ok, from 1 year to 6, its a target find. From age 3 to 5 it would be ideal. You cant waste your time with this book; its a wonderful addition to building a treasured collection that will incresase a childs understanding of God and how God loves us. What better purpose can a book have?
