Jack Mars is a master of the political thriller. Luke Stone is back and is once again asked by President Susan Hayes to perform his magic. The possibility of election results hijacking escalates to an unimaginable threat and Stone finds himself and President Hayes the target of a maniac with the power and influence to change the direction and safety of the entire country. Riveting, thrilling and almost impossible to anticipate or put down. I kept promising to stop at the end of the chapter and couldn't seem to do it. Magnificent!

I've gotten hooked on this series. It seems well-written and keeps you interested. Each book is the same basic formula, but each with its own twist. If you're looking for something that is fun to read, look no further.

Being a 66-year old woman, I do not, as a rule, like books about spies, politics, espionage, special ops, etc. This man, Jack Mars, has me hooked on this series!! It's always fast-paced, I love the plot twists and turns, and I especially like the way he writes! He fleshes out the characters without so much introspection that you lose interest and think "enough, already!" He makes the stories very easy to follow despite hopping here, there and everywhere (always a downer for me). I found myself wishing that my bus trips would take longer because every time my stop came, I was right in the middle of some heavy action and didn't want to put the book down! I hope this author never stops writing. He's a brilliant and masterful storyteller and we are incredibly lucky he entered our lives!

Jack Mars has created another page turner. He really needs to get Luke Stone in the movies. A thrill ride to the very last page.

I must have missed something, because that was the lamest ending possible. Various elements early on gave the story such promise (I won't spoil it for anyone) and then it just....fizzled.

This is the first book i have read from this author and the first "Luke Stone" novel. I don't know the authors political party, but in this book, the President is a Democratic women who " broke the glass ceiling". She was a model in her earlier life and has a female vice-president. The Republican ( who just beat her in the election) is depicted as a power hungry war monger. He is also unstable as his manager who thinks he controls the president. They hire "black shirt" tugs to beat up on Chinese citizens ( instead of brown shirts of the 1930's) I am a independent and found this amusing set up. Reminds one of our current political climate. That being said, the novel is 278 pages long with short chapters. Each chapter has action in it. This is a book that is hard to put down once you start! Author doesn't get barged down in a lot of technical mumbo jumbo. I have just ordered his next two books. Highly recommended.

Have been hooked on this series. However, I was disappointed in this book. It had a very liberal bias and seemed to abruptly start and stop in unusual places. I still enjoyed the read and do look forward to the next one. Luke Stone is an enjoyable character. His ability to carry on after near disastrous events reminds me of another enjoyable character.
