Beckett and Venetia have a one-night stand at her brother's wedding. Venetia has had a crush on him since her teens. He's her brother's best friend. He is also her father's attorney holding secrets that can hurt her and her brother. Will this work out? This can be read as a stand alone book. There are characters from earlier books in the series but the stories do not cross over. Enough is told about Venetia's brother's story that it is easy to pick up. This story grabbed me from the beginning and held me enthrall until the end. I could not put it down and read it in one setting. The storytelling is wonderful. I loved Beckett and Venetia. Her brother was a bit of a jerk. Her father, one of the worst villains I have had the displeasure of meeting in a book. Knowing Beckett and Venetia's thoughts kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know when they would put their protective shields down and open up to each other. Both are stubborn but both learn they are stronger together than alone. The secondary characters are interesting. I want to know what happens with their friend Tucker. I am not so sure I want to know Sam's, her brother, story but I may have to find out just to finish the series.
