A small Colorado town. An opportunity for murder.
Ryann has been raised in a strict house by her perfectionist detective father and docile mother. She plays by the rules, doing what her parents ask, getting straight As, cheering at Friday night football games, and is the voice of reason for her eclectic group of friends.
But she’s done following the rules.
Ryann’s been a good girl for far too long. She’s suppressed her dark longings to make everyone else happy.
It’s time to make herself happy—to become the person she’s always wanted to be. Unfortunately, that means a few people are going to have to die.

“This creepy novel places you inside the mind of a twisted teen killer, which is even more unsettling because of how familiar and normal she seems. Be prepared to leave the lights on and look at the people around you in a whole new way.”
-Eileen Cook | Author of WITH MALICE
“Dark and haunting, this witty thriller with its petite feminine anti-hero is an American Psycho for teens. Be prepared to sleep with the lights on.”

Ryann Wilkanson is a fifteen year old that is a straight A student, cheerleader, and a good daughter to the local police detective. She doesn’t always live up to her sister’s excellence but she has found a way to keep herself entertained. Ryann is a serial killer. She knows everything about the “Greats,” those famous serial killers that she studies and wants to be one of them. But to get her numbers up there she needs to get started. Years earlier, when Ryann was nine years old, an accident happened to the little girl her sister was babysitting and instead of calling for help, Ryann just ended her life. That was a thrill and now she feels it’s time to really get started. Everyone is terrorized by the serial killer and the police are kept on their toes trying to figure out what she will do next. But just like all of the “Greats,” she is starting to slip up and getting sloppy with her murders. But it’s not just the police watching her. She has also caught the eye of someone else. Ryann seems to be the perfect high school student, a persona she has been working on since her first kill. She comes from a good family and yet she becomes a serial killer. But even though she did all this research and planning she started getting sloppy like her idols. Bu then again you have to remember that she is only 15 and a lot of her behavior made sense. If you want a great thriller that will suck you in and leave you wanting more at the end, look no further. This is the first book in a series so I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received Pretty Wicked from Silver Dagger Book Tours for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
Ryann is a pretty typical teenager. She's 15 and in her parents' eyes, she never quite compares with her older sister. She's a straight A student, a cheerleader, has many friends, and never gets into trouble. Her dad is a homicide detective, her mom a waitress in a small town. Oh.. did I say typical? I meant to say atypical. You see, Ryann is a serial killer. Her first victim came about when Ryann was 9 years old. ... A bratty little girl that her sister babysat. Since her dad's a cop, Ryann knows all about DNA, fingerprints, alibis. Since then she has been studying more ... by reading all about the "Greats" .. well-known serial killers. She takes out the girl who stole her boyfriend, a teacher, a customer at her mother's restaurant, among others. She loves knowing that she's the person responsible for making the police crazy, for residents locking their doors. But someone has been watching .... and knows her secret. Maybe she hasn't been as careful as she thought. I have read a lot of serial killer books, psychological thrillers ... this particular book is among the best. I don't read a lot of young blond, pretty, perky teenage girls who commits arson, strangles, and stabs her victims.. depending on her mood. Psychopaths have no conscience or moral compass. That seems to be an accurate description of Ryann. PRETTY WICKED is such a well-written book. It was a hard book to put down. And even now, hours after I finished the book, I'm still seeing her in my mind. There are a few great plot twists. "Anonymous" was something I never saw coming. The ending was fantastic! Kelly Charron has created the perfect serial killer book and I cannot wait to see the next installment... WICKED FALLOUT.
