This is an excellent guide for those who wish to self-diagnose and treat acid reflux and other issues resulting from it themselves. I appreciate how it cautions very carefully which signs you should still consult a doctor about, which tells me that the author knows what they're talking about. It includes an easy to follow 14-Day dual-phase Meal Plan that if you commit to it, is designed to both cleanse and heal your body. It's not a deprivation deal, though...the recipes are both simple and sound delicious. I recommend it.

I am so happy that i bought this book; it has everything i want to know about acid reflux. Prevent Acid Reflux is such an informative book, full of recipes, a 14-day diet plan, lists of foods you should be shopping  for and eating, what causes acid reflux and how you can help prevent and cure your acid reflux with diet and excercise. This book gives descriptions of the symtoms of GERD so that you are able to diagnose whether you have acid reflux and if so, how you can go about starting your acid reflux diet.  Did you know that the ph of the human body is 7.25 - 7.35? This ph is close to the ph of distilled water to give you an idea. The closer the food's ph is to the  "magic 7", the better, an example is.... if the food's ph is lower than 4, people that suffer from GERD should not eat it (Chapter 3). Information such as this and lots of other helpful and important information about GERD, NERD, and Acid Reflux can be found throughout this amazing book.

Most people do not view acid reflux as a serious issue when it is. This book does a great job of allowing the reader to understand why they are experiencing the issues they are. It helps the reader make better choices when buying food to prevent further health issues that stem from acid reflux.

According to this book, to prevent acid reflux you need to be checking the pH levels of your food. Foods with a pH of no less than 5 are ideal; anything less on the pH scale is too acidic. There is a list provided of common foods and their pH levels, which is helpful.

For people afflicted with acid reflux who are looking for steps they can take at home to ease their symptoms, “Prevent Acid Reflux” is a step-by-step guide to changing your diet and eating habits so you can stop feeling miserable after your meals. The diet has a lot in common with clean and organic diets, but it’s far less restrictive, focusing mainly on fresh produce and whole grains to replace fried and processed foods. Though it could’ve used one more proofread, the book makes a sound case. Give its strategy a try if you’re looking to make healthier choices and soothe your acid reflux!

What a great, easy to follow, straight forward guide to help manage that never ending cycle of acid-reflux. I never thought it was that big of a deal, until I started getting woken up at night from the pain. The chalky tums and antacids weren’t cutting it anymore. This book gave me a whole new outlook on how to manage my acid-reflux. I couldn’t be happier that I tried this, its made a huge difference for me.

"Prevent Acid Reflux" explains all of the ways to prevent acid reflux.  It includes information about how acid reflux rises into the esophagus and burns the upper abdomen and throat. Some signs of acid reflux include stomach pain and regurgitation.  The book recommends drinkning water.  Keeping  a "trigger foods list" is also recommended.  The book offers a 14 day meal plan and recipes that include breakfast foods, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

This book has lots of great recipes, but it might not be for you if you don't like chopping and cooking veggies. It's hard to make the transformation from Hot Pockets and Coke to roasted vegetables and water, but your stomach will thank you for it. The info's all in there, you just have to have the willpower.

Heartburn and acid reflux is not only common, but easy to treat and potentially dangerous if untreated. Fortunately this guide is full of tips that are easy to implement, from modest exercise to shifts in diet that still includes a wide variety of delicious foods. It’s not a strict or difficult diet by any means. With this guide, eating can be a pleasure again!

Prevent Acid Reflux has been such a helpful book to me.  I suffer from acid reflux, or heartburn, and I am now armed with exactly what causes it, how to diagnose it, and how to cure it, especially with diet, but also with changes in lifestyle and medication.  It’s caused by acid in the stomach coming up through a valve in the esophagus, which creates a chemical burn in the throat and abdomen.  This book argues that the cure is about eating less food, eating less trigger/acidic foods, and slowing down the eating process.  Stress, lack of sleep, and certain medications can exacerbate the problem as well.  The book includes resources, tests, lists of symptoms, steps to reduce the symptoms, a 14-day eating plan, and recipes of foods that are designed to successfully combat this condition.

Even though Prevent Acid Reflux is a simple book of how to diagnose and treat acid reflux and GERD, I think you should skip buying this book and just use common sense. I didn’t learn anything new and they have pamphlets at most doctor offices that can give you most of the same information.

This book contains useful acid reflux info, tips and recipes. Chronic acid reflux can lead to serious complications and health problems. If your saliva or urine pH is below 5.6, start the acid reflux diet ASAP. Do not drink soft drinks; the book says, "You need to drink thirty-two glasses of alkaline water to counter the acid in one Coca-Cola."

I remember being nauseas when I was pregnant and my food flew back up on me. It went away after childbirth, but I'm not pregnant now and it's back ... Acid Reflux. Doctors want us to change our lifestyle. Reduce stress and spice. Eat Smaller Meals and Eat Real Food. Turning the pages here, I liked what they tell us. They do offer a Battle Plan and the eating changes don't seem so difficult. Might be fun to try their recipes that do look appetizing.
