This story had me from the start all the way through the book. I couldn't put it down. I took mini breaks to give my eyes a rest. Every page made me read the next. It was real and captivating, romantic and nerve whacking at the same time. Even with all that, I must say, I was slightly disappointed with the ending of sorts. I wanted to know what happened to Walter and the ending was a bit too drawn out with not enough of the great emotional intrigue that captured me in the beginning. I found it a bit difficult to finish reading after the hospital scene. This would have been a 5-star book, if not for the ending. But all and all, I would still recommended this book to anyone. I enjoyed it.

I Loved this book..I could not put it down, my 2 daughters had take out for a week...and I must say the way I cook ..they thank you. Vivian is a strong woman who we should all look up too.I know if that was me I could raise Passion..but my husband would be in the nearest hospital. I love the way you brung the story to life. The older woman giving the wisdom to a woman in need was a beautiful touch also. I will be looking for your next book.

Vivians husband walter does the unthinkable...first he goes out and have an affair, which results to a baby girl. he brings the baby home to leave vivian to care for while hes out and about doing his own thing. but strangely enough vivian has started to become attached to his love child. shes spending time with this child every day, which was a hectic time for her because shes in the progress of getting her law degree. but she became close friend with 'Marc he help her find a sitter for the child while she continued with her classes, but as she continues to spend time with him on a regular basis. they started to get closer to each other. there are lots of twist and turns in this story that will keep you entertained....

The excerpt on the inner cover had me. This book is a page turner and the characters are so real. The avid descriptions of the many places visited were real as were the many 'other' characters. This is a beautiful book and comforting read. I cheated and read the ending 'after' Walter dropped his bomb. Vivian holds on and does the only right thing to do and I'm always happy to see the rewards of endurance. This is the first book I've read by Evelyn Palfrey, but I will be reading her other books -- soon !

Prominent Women of Color Book Club of which I am a member, met this writer at the 2001 Romance Slam Jam which was held in March. We had not heard of her work but all members present purchased The Price of Passion and we're all still talking about it. Once you start reading this book, you can't put it down. It's writing with a Passion.
