Prince of Pain (Cruel Legacies): Enemies-to-lovers, modern-day Gilded Age romance romance with a hint of darkness and a Cinderella twist.
He lives in a castle, but he's no prince.

Adelaide
I had a normal childhood for a blue blood growing up in a famous, historical hotel among Gilded Age mansions on the coast of Rhode Island.

My life changed dramatically when my mom died before I was even a teenager. That same year I met my best friend. Kingston. The boy with black hair and moonbeam eyes who saved me from cracking my head open. He became my lifeline. By the time we were teens, I planned our marriage and our happily ever after.

It was a fool's dream.

I learned the hard way people in my elite world hurt you. They betray and discard you like trash. My heart has had its share of beatings, but Kingston left it in pieces.

I hated him for it.

He grew up to be even more stunning and continues to taunt me, stealing kisses and more. Taking things he doesn't deserve but that I give willingly. Because as much as I hate him, I still want him. Worst of all, I hate when he shows glimpses of the boy I once loved. In rare moments, he even shows me affection.

That's the most I can hope for in this corrupt world of old money and legacies. We're all monsters who thrive off pain, me included. Kingston still owns a piece of my heart that I'm too weak to take back.

At twenty years old, we're caught in a tormenting cycle of cat and mouse that can only end in one of two ways-we destroy or save each other.

*18+ content. Possible triggers - emotional abuse, bullying, dominance, stalking, possessiveness, past trauma, physical abuse of side character

About the Author

Tara Gallina writes in many romance genres from new adult & college to small town to fantasy. The majority of her books are steamy, but she has two that are sweeter.

Her stories tend to have angst, tormented heros, and some laugh-out-loud moments. The settings are almost as important as the characters. Her travels inspire many of the locations.

When she’s not writing, she loves to visit gardens, New England in the fall, European castles, and Caribbean beaches. She has a fairy garden, is passionate about interior design, obsessed with throw pillows, favors the color pink, and only drinks wine that tastes like melted sugar.

She grew up on the beaches of Florida's Gulf Coast and still lives in the sunshine state with her husband, although her two sons have moved onto college. As for reading, if it has romance, she's in.
