Overview

Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep by Gail Carson Levine, Mark Elliott

A spiteful fairy. A beautiful princess. An outstretched finger. A spindle. A hundred-year snooze. A charming prince. A kiss. All the familiar ingredients.

But wait! Where did that extra prince come from? And those fairy gifts that were never there before? And what does a flock of balding sheep have to do with anything?

Gail Carson Levine has waved her magic wand over the old standby of "Sleeping Beauty" and presto! It reappears, transformed, sparkling and hilarious. Chuckles and giggles are guaranteed.

This book brings many laughs and just keeps you turning pages. And when you are finished, you just want to read it again. It is about a princess who is put under a spell in which she has to have her true love save her. But WHO is her true love? Read the book and find out!!

You should read the book 'Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep.¿ It is very exciting. The book is very exciting because of a curse, Sonora might pass away, but she could fall asleep for 100 years. The book was very funny. The book was funny because the baby reads while having her diaper changed. Instead of playing with her ducks in the bath, she reminds the maids to clean between her toes and behind her ears. The book was also mysterious. It's mysterious because she might poke herself with a spindle and die. So as I told you this is an exciting, funny, and mysterious book and you should read this book! Melissa Hatfield

i love this story. it's one of my favorite princess tales stories. the author, gail, is sooooo clever in getting the idea about sonora and her smartness. then of course, she gets pierced in the hand with the spinning needle, and so we all know it, she falls asleep for a hundred years until a prince kisses her on the lips. and forgive me but they were a great match!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Her portrait of a breastfeeding mother is frightening at best. She said it was barbaric. I monitor all books my kids read and this is not something I would not let them read without guidence.

I have all of Gail Carson Levine's books except Dave at Night, and have read them all five times. Out of the Princess Tales set, my favorite was Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep. It was very different, with dumb and curious princes to balding sheep to a bunch of snores. I recommend not only this book but all of Gail Carson Levine's outstanding works!

It is like Sleeping Beauty except Princess Sonora is ten times smarter than any man on earth and the Prince is always asking questions. I liked this book a lot especially how Princess Sonora can talk while people are still changing her diapers. It must be really annoying that a baby whose diaper you are changing is smarter than you.

The fairy Aurora gives Sonora the gift of being 10x as smart as anyone else because Antonetta stole her gift. Sonora cures the balding sheep and marries a curious prince instead of a really weird one who becomes a knight, it was cute.

Personally, I think Gail Carson Levine could have done better, though every other book in the Princess Series were super!

I loved the ending but I don't know, it could be better. Loved most of it.

This is a great book for someone who likes boring tales about a smart person. This is defininetly not Gail Carson Levine's best.

I enjoyed this book, but their was something missing. It wasn't a bad book, it just can't compare with Levine's other books. I thought that the happy ending, wasn't as happy as it could be. I thought that for a smaller book, it was good. But I enjoyed the others in the Princess Series a lot more.
