Girard (chemistry, American University) presents the chemical foundations of contemporary environmental science and issues in this text for students with background in general chemistry. A unique feature of the text is its stress on analytical techniques used by the EPA to measure pollutants in the environment and on EPA regulation of discharges into the environment. Worked examples, problems and explained answers, and key words and concepts are included, and an appendix reviews organic chemistry. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

This book is not worth 5 dollars. I used it for a collage course. It fall a part. And was just plan wrong in some facts. And the editor must have forgotten to edit the book! Now that I¿m in the felid, I looking for a book that covers the information thus spending more money on a different text.
