About the Author

A. "Mississippi" Alexander grew up on a farm in the segregated South, raised by his grandparents. At the young age of four, he dreamed of becoming a doctor. When he shared his aspirations, his grandfather asked, "And then what happens?" This question sparked Mississippi's gift for storytelling, with his grandfather as his biggest supporter."Mississippi" graduated from Northwestern University with multiple engineering degrees and later earned a medical doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and several board-certification specialties. His college friends gave him the nickname as he was the only black student from Mississippi in his freshman class. His unique "country" accent and style made him stand out, and the name stuck.The COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns reignited "Mississippi's" passion for storytelling, allowing him to incorporate his professional experience and hobbies, such as flying, golf, chess, and basketball, into his tales. If you come across him at the 19th hole, don't hesitate to ask him, "...and then what happened?"

Lisa Dobry lives in the NW suburbs of Chicago, but her heart will always remain in Paris, France, where she was a college student and busker for a two-man show strumming and howling the Blues. As a mixed media artist and writer, she creates from an intuitive space that evolves from exploration and play. She is an experienced yogi who sees creativity as a natural ebb and flow, sometimes effortless and at other times deliberate and focused. Lisa's true gift is communication; she is skilled at connecting people and ideas, structuring thoughts, and building communities. Her professional background includes sales, business development, and project management.
