Overview

Private Maneuvers (Silhouette Intimate Moments Series#1226) by Catherine Mann

C-17 copilot Darcy "Wren" Renshaw wanted a piece of the war-zone action like the rest of her air-force family. Instead, she was stuck hauling a brooding scientist to the calm waters of Guam. Darcy thought she was being shuffled far away from the action...until she met Max Keagan and embarked on the mission of her life.

Undercover CIA agent Max needed a military airlift to a South Pacific island. He didn't need First Lieutenant Darcy Renshaw blowing his cover and bringing chaos to his top secret program. But Darcy and danger seemed destined to go hand in hand. And while trying to keep Darcy safe, Max realized he was soon in danger of losing his well-guarded heart.

1st Lt. Darcy 'Wren' Renshaw is tired of being kept out of the war-zone action. She wants to fly into the action and make a difference. Instead she is stuck flying marine biologist Dr. Maxwell Keagan and his two dolphins, 'Lucy and Ethel' to Guam. The first meeting between Darcy and Max is priceless. Both are bowled over by their instant attractions to each other. Max has a hidden agenda in going to Guam. He is an undercover CIA agent trying to find the leak in his team. This leak caused the death of his former partner and lover. Soon Darcy is in danger and Max it trying to keep her safe. Through all the danger and intrigue Max keeps trying to protect his heart. This latest Wingmen Warrior story is fast paced and thrilling. The dialogue is witty and the chemistry is sizzling. It was great to revisit with previous wingmen characters that appear in the book. You will enjoy this book by Cathy Mann and be looking forward to the next book.

Catherine Mann is an author to watch--her Wingmen Warriors series just keeps getting better with each new book, and PRIVATE MANEUVERS tops them all! Darcy is a true-to-life, three-dimensional heroine, and Max is to die for. Mann handles their relationship believeably--showing how they first become friends, then lovers--all the while weaving a suspenseful thread through this story that's bound to thrill even jaded romance readers. Brava!
