About the Author
Stephen Kochan is the author and coauthor of several bestselling titles on the C language, including Programming in C (Sams, 2004), Programming in ANSI C (Sams, 1994), and Topics in C Programming (Wiley, 1991), and several UNIX titles, including Exploring the Unix System (Sams, 1992) and Unix Shell Programming (Sams, 2003). He has been programming on Macintosh computers since the introduction of the first Mac in 1984, and he wrote Programming C for the Mac as part of the Apple Press Library. In 2003, Kochan wrote Programming in Objective-C (Sams, 2003), and followed that with another Mac-related title, Beginning AppleScript (Wiley, 2004).

This has to be the most well written book I've read so far. I can actually read it for hours on end without feeling burned out. Most books I've read have been on Java and they can be difficult at times to understand, so I end up having to backtrack and read the paragraph over again in order to understand what the author was trying to say. With this book I haven't had to do that once. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in programming in Objective-C.
The book is perfect for someone who is starting object oriented programing and is looking for a dynamic language to start with. This book covers programing on any platform. It doesnt cover making a user interface but there are other books that will cover that. Over all this book is a must have for anyone looking to get into programing, who doesnt want to get mixed up in a complicated language like c++.
