About the Author
Alberto De Marco earned his M.Sc. in Building Engineering and Ph.D. in Construction Management from Politecnico of Turin, Italy. He attended part of his courses at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.
Currently he is Assistant Professor at the Politecnico of Torino. He teaches Project Management and Construction Management at Politecnico di Torino, University of Bozen, as well as Università Cattolica Milan (Italy), and provides executive education to firms and institutions. He was a post-doc scholar in the field of complexity science applied to system project management.
In 2006, he was appointed visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Project Management class.
Research interests are in field of smart industrial building and construction process management.
He worked as assistant project manager both in France and in Italy. From 2001 to 2004 he founded and directed a start-up company providing IT tools for construction, and currently acts as a consultant to a construction company for financial planning of public-private partnership projects.
