She grew up in Southern California, attended Oregon State University, and has degrees from San Diego State University and the University of Maryland. She did it again. Shirleen Davies put out another masterpiece. Taking us back to Redemption Mountain for the 6th time, and the 6th wonderful read. This time, we are focusing on the story of Bull Mason and Lydia Rinehart. Lydia came into Bull's life when he was part of the group that found her and the other orphans in a cave where they were hiding after stealing food. Lydia was deathly ill, and Bull was determined to make her well and then make her his. They have come a long way since then, and are about to get married when disaster strikes. Lydia's brother is taken by the Crow Indians who the orphans had escaped from before being found. Now, Bull, Lydia, and several of the Redemption Mountain's leading men are on their way to try and rescue him. The journey is full of peril, surprises, and broken promises. Their relationship may or may not survive. While this could be read as a stand alone book, I highly recommend reading the entire series, as well as all of Shirleen's other series. They are all equally fantastic.

The reader is given the tale of Bull, a survivor of the Civil War, and Lydia,a survivor of an Indian captivity. Their journey of healing brings them together along with allowing the reader to visit with old friends and meet new ones. Really enjoy the scenery, characters and their interactions along with suspense of life in the old west. This author always delights in her telling of stories. Author copy with thanks.
