Promises Of Mercy Vella Day by Vella Day

Oncology nurse, Amber Delacroix is totally distraught. She's the number one suspect in a mercy-killing case--her brother's no less! Finding comfort in the arms of the paramedic who treated her brother, Amber's budding relationship with the compassionate and kind Stone Benson heats up. Just as they begin to explore new ground, Stone reveals shocking news: sharing his women with his roommate is his preferred sexual lifestyle. That might not be so bad if his friend didn't happen to be the insensitive detective Cade Carter who accused her of the murder. Now it's up to all three of them to clear Amber's name as the murderer, so the men can take mercy on her body...

I usualy buy my books acording to reviews. I am so glad I didn't pay attention this time. With only two reviews I took a shot and bought the book after reading the sample. This was not the best book I ever read but it was the best menage. It has a storyline it sticks to and leads you from begining to end with suspense, sadness, love, laughter and friendship. The only thing I have to agree with the single bad review is some of the wording in the sex scenes. There are nicer ways to refer to genitalia than were used. But it didn't hurt the story. My brain just traded words and kept going. But if I have to say something bad, that would be it. I would definitly recomend the series to anyone who likes menage books.

A great new series! The story line was exciting while the characters had such depth and emotion that you felt like you knew them. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one. :0)

Something about the writing style was very juvenile. Grown up problems with serious life-altering events and the characters would go from devastated to fine in a snap. Whatever greiving/trauma they were going through didn't seem genuine. The relationship with one man is built on friendship and slowly working into romance and then bam! She goes and f****s his best friend who she hated 5 minutes before. How fortunate that both men were so cool with it... and apparently the whole town. Too many things just didn't work for me in this story. Won't be reading on in the series, but maybe others can enjoy.

I liked the story but it was missing something. I had to convience myself to read the ending. Just short of 300 pages and all 3 pov

This was an OK book. Relationships went from 0 to 60 way too fast. Also introducing her to a manage relationship also went way to fast. A lot of what happened in their lives and in bed didn't seem to be a natural progression of things.

Writing is a bit unpolished right now, as the author hurries through some parts that needed further fleshing out. For instance, the main characters went from "just met" to "in love" without parts of the story to bring the reader along on that journey. One strengths is the plotline. So many authors in this genre give little thought to the story, just stringing scenes together. This author gives us a strong plot and that helped keep my interest.

Good sexy book with three people which I find very interesting Took a long time to actually be a serious triad but when the did --- then they did I would have liked to see the story on through the marriage to see how that worked and who she married

The tale is intriguing yet real in so many ways . A well written expresion and well developed plot make the reader keep reading with curiosity and a smile. Plenty of sexual situations as well as intrigue . A fun read

This was the first book I've read by this author. I was very pleased to find it was quite good. When I first read that it was about ménage, I thought it was going to be one of those short, seedy books, but it is well written & had a bit of mystery to it involving a couple murders. I enjoyed reading it and thought it was tastefully written. When I finished it I immediately went and bought the next one in the series and can't wait to start it!

I usually buy all the available books in a series at one time. I'm so very glad I didn't this time. Because this book was awful. I swear the person writing this (just can't bring myself to call her an author) did absolutely no research. The three main characters were an oncology nurse, a homocide detective and a parametic. Fairly weighty professions that should have merited at least some research to write about but nope. This writer just wrote whatever she wanted, however she wanted. As an example of the complete lack of continuity, Cade's eye's weren't even the same shade of blue in the same sentence. The writing style reminded me of the Dick and Jane books. I've had 3 year olds tell me more complex, better thought out stories. Most 3 yr. olds seem more mature, too. As far as the erotica elements went, I suppose the person writing probably read some forums somewhere or watched a few 1970's adult movies for ideas and wording. Just about that caliber. Yes, this review may seem harsh. I'm fairly ticked at spending money on something that was absolutely, completely, and totally horrible. Was there anything possibly redeeming about this book? The editing for spelling and punctuation was fairly good. However, if you only use words found in the vocabulary of your average 3 yr. old (outside of the sexual elements), how hard could the editing be? Take a pass on this book. Read anything else. Anything

She has done it again !!! Loved the outline story, and the way the the main people play off each other. It stays interesting from beginning to the end. I am looking forward to more of these.
