About the Author

A.E. Via is still a fairly new author in the beautiful gay erotic genre. Her writing embodies everything from spicy to scandalous. Her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.

When she’s not clicking away at her laptop, she devotes herself to her family—a husband and four children, her two pets, a Maltese dog and her white Siamese cat, ELynn, named after the late, great gay romance author E. Lynn Harris.

While this is only her eighth novel, she has plenty more to come. So stalk her – she loves that - because the male on male action is just heating up!

I was so happy when I found out Duke was getting his own story. He really needed to have someone special. Lucky for him, Vaughan knew he was just that guy. Both of these characters were well written and I enjoyed this story very much. Vaughan had known for a very long time that he wanted Duke. He made his plans to finish school and get his life together so that when all was said and done he would be in the perfect position to claim his man. I loved the devotion and absolute certainty that Vaughan had about him and Duke. He left Duke with no real option but to be with him. When Duke gets hurt Vaughan steps up and does what he can to fix the situation. All in all a extremely well done story that I will be reading again.

This is the first book by A.E. Via that I have read, but it certainly won't be the last. I need to read Quick and Cayson's story (at least, I hope it's Cayson!). This is Duke and Vaughan's story though, and it was fantastic reading. Vaughan has had a 'crush' on Duke for years and now he is older, he is prepared to show Duke just how much of a man he is. Vaughan has his dad's approval even though Quick thought that it would fade in time. This proved not to be the case and Vaughan is determined to get his man. However, life has a way of changing plans and in this case, it is Duke getting a severe beating and almost dying on the job that changes things. Vaughan makes a decision and ends up saving Duke's life, although he doesn't want Duke to know in case he feels indebted to him. Promises is one hell of a read, with friendship, loyalty and love being just some of the themes covered. Well-written and smoothly paced, with excellent character development and growth, this book certainly ticked every box. I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this story and can't wait to read the next in the series. Highly recommended. * I received this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Not What I Expected!! OMG I absolutely loved Duke and Vaughan's story. I had been waiting for Duke's story after meeting him in Don't Judge Me and him having his heart broken by Judge. However, I was not prepared for the story that A.E. Via gave me!! I had no idea that Duke and Vaughan's story would be so touching, heartfelt, emotional and funny too, because, hey, this is an A.E. Via book. Wow!! This was an extremely powerful story about how far one will go for the person that he loves. And all I can say is that Vaughan is an amazing man and Duke is extremely lucky to have him in his corner. Great job on this emotionally gripping story, A.E.Via. Now I am waiting for Quick and Dr. Carson's story. I hope the wait isn't too long!!

Duke is the owner of one of the busiest bails bond company in Atlanta. He makes sure that he and his bountyhunters track down criminals and ensure they show up in court. Quick is Dukes business partner and best friend, as the guys are now in their 40s, they have come to realize the perfect life is not always obtainable. Now Quick's son has returned home seven years later from law school and he's ready to claim what he's always wanted….Duke! The friendship between Duke and Quick hits a rough road and they're trying to figure out how to remain friends when Duke starts sleeping with Quicks son. When Duke gets hurt on the job is when the more important things in life become crystal-clear to the men. When I saw this novel was part one, I was thrilled as I love A.E. Via's series, it's a great place to escape to. The story belongs to Duke and Vaughn and part two will be all about Quick and possibly his love story. If you loved NOTHING SPECIAL then you will love this series. I loved how Vaughn had nothing in his sights but Duke and nothing is going to get in his way and how dominant he is was a nice change in the May-December relationships. I enjoyed the secondary character of Cayson and I really hope he shows up in part 2 with Quick. Was sweet how Vaughn has always had a huge crush on Duke and his father always knew it. I was like OMG Duke has no idea what's in store for him when Vaughn comes a knockin. Nobody does Alphas like AE Via does! This was an amazing first instalment of A.E. Via's series, Bounty Hunters as she created such an emotional and beautiful story with some of the most brilliant characters I have ever read. I love the men in this book as these are real hot men. The way the author creates these amazing alphas is simply brilliant. I couldn't recommend Promises-Part 1 enough for everyone to read!!!! Another erotic and romantic love story of two Alpha males. The poor editing (spell checker) is more distracting in this novel than the previous one. Correct English that makes sense and not just an assembledge of correctly spelled words is a lost art in the digital age. People though are after a hot story which this is. Enjoy.

Was so surprised by how it just pulled my heart strings. Loved a true romantic story.
