Description: Taking a step-by-step approach, this book discusses the importance of proposal writing for capstone and clinical projects.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide practical guidelines for graduate students and advanced clinicians to organize and package their clinical projects through tight proposals. This is a worthy objective, as there are not many resources to assist graduate students or clinicians in proposal writing.
Audience: The authors intend this book for graduate students and clinicians who must write proposals for their projects.
Features: The book covers the entire process of writing proposals: the clinical problem, the project design, and the completed proposal. The book is easy to read and contains many examples to help readers understand the various steps of the process. Chapters begin with reflective questions and conclude with learning activities. One unique feature at the end of each chapter is a preview of the next chapter. The exercises help enhance the students' understanding.
Assessment: As a faculty member who has been working with DNP students for the past five years, I find this book to be a valuable asset for proposal writing. I have not seen another book that covers this subject. I plan to require this book for my students who will be writing their doctoral practice theses proposals.
