This is Vincent and Jordan’s story.  Vincent was in the navy prior to joining Red Stone Security and back in California he was dating Jordan and after only 4 months of dating he knew he was falling hard for her.  There was some random fires and women going missing and one night when Jordan was about to head home she spotted what looked like a friend who ran a boutique being dragged by a man in all black clothing.   Well many things transpired and Jordan finds herself not going home to Vincent.  7 years forward..  Vincent is in shock at the woman who is sitting her car out front of his home in Miami.  It’s none other than Jordan the woman who broke his freaking heart.  Jordan has come to ask for forgiveness and explain where she had been but  What she thought was left in her past has now found its way into her future. Vincent although very angry has no intentions of letting Jordan out of his sight again.  So much transpires in this book. I love all the action and twists and turns the author puts into her books. And the romance is off the HOT charts.  Loved this book and this entire series so far. Highly recommend it !

You really can't go wrong with any of her Red Stone Security books. This is one of my favorites! PROTECTING HIS WITNESS by Katie Reus is the seventh book in her exciting Red Stone Security series. This tale is an original take on a second chance at love story. It is a fast-paced, sweet and spicy book, full of high stakes action. Once I started it, I did not want to put it down. This is the story of former Navy Seal Vincent Hansen and Jordan Alvarado. All the books in this series can be read in any order and each works well as standalone reads, if that is your preference. I loved both the hero and the heroine. Vincent had never gotten over the overnight disappearance of the love of his life seven years ago in San Diego. She had left without a goodbye. He had searched high and low for her to no avail. He has attempted to move on, but her memory remains a gaping hole in his heart. When she suddenly appears in a car parked on the street where he lives now in Miami, his emotions quickly evolve from astonishment to confusion, intense lust and then fury. After his initial shock, he still does not know how to react, but he is determined not to let her go again. Jordan thought she was finally getting her life back. She has never forgotten Vincent but she could not have asked him to leave his family and his new job to go into hiding with her within the Witness Protect Program. For her, there has never been anyone since Vincent. She never even tried to move on because, how could she, when Vincent had been her everything? Now that she's been released, the first thing on her bucket list is to find him and explain. She is guilt-ridden and figures that he has moved on. Discovering that he is furious with her is painful as she didn't realize that he'd cared as much for her as she had for him. Then she finds out that the nightmare that required her vanishing act is back. Both of these characters are strong-willed and compelling. Vincent is an Alpha male with a capital A and Jordan is a Fiery damsel in distress with a capital F. Even though Vincent doesn't understand why Jordan didn't give him a chance to decide if he wanted to join her, he's still determined to keep her safe. The narrator, Sophie Eastlake, delivered a solid, well-paced performance. She has a clear, pleasing voice that is easy to follow. Her performance had me on the edge of my seat gasping at the same time I was swooning. She delivered both female and male genuine- sounding characters and brilliantly differentiated between the characters so I never had an issue knowing who was speaking. I would not hesitate to pick up an audio that she has narrated. My full review is posted at Reading Between The Wines Book Club. Please check it out there! 5 Wine Glasses!!!!!

I really enjoy the Red Stone people. It seems that in this book, if you don’t really have much to say, you fill in with a lot of sex. Halfway through the book, the plot started to come together. This would have been a better short story than a full length book.

I know why the book was only $2.99. Too much "romance" way too soon. The hero is too controlling and she too meek. I am just over halfway through the book and cannot wait for it to end. You truly get what you pay for. I do not recommend this book, although l have enjoyed others in this series.

Jordan walked out of Vincent's life seven years ago. When she reappears again he is determined to never let her go again. However, she is still hunted and he has to try to put an end to her running. Good story that keeps you wanting to read more.

The writing in Protecting His Witness is so smooth even when there are a lot of details that need to be included such as in the action scenes. I was able to keep up because Katie provides such great descriptions and I actually felt the action and emotions along with the characters. When Katie Reus writes the passionate scenes she knows exactly how much detail to include and how much to leave to the reader's imagination. If you are looking for a romantic suspense book that grips you from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end, I highly recommend reading Protecting His Witness.

Vincent..Vincent...Vincent! Oh how I love me some Vincent! There is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Katie Reus. One of the many things I love about her writing is that she allows her characters to explore and express deep emotions. She did just that in this story. She made the situation between Jordan and Vincent believable. I loved how Vincent's emotions were tattered and ripped to the bare bones. He did not easily forgive Jordan and allowed her to see his hurt and anger. Yet, the chemistry between the two was tangible and raw. The relationship was well developed. I could actually see myself reacting the same way if I was in that situation. There was an instance where I felt Jordan went overboard in thinking that she could save Vincent. I like my heroines to have girl power but there is a fine line between power and TSTL. She came dangerously close to TSTL. I mean it had me crossing my eyes and shaking my head. Thankfully, the author pulled her back before she crossed the line. :) I was so happy that Vincent finally got his own story and that he lived up to all the hype. This series continues to get better and better.

I don't think I will ever get enough of this series and the characters! I get so excited when I see that there will be a new Red Stone Security book releasing soon and I'm always very impatient to get my hands on it. And they just keep getting better and better! I honestly don't know how Katie does it, but she does and I am SO very thankful! The men in these books are all the macho bada** type, which I love and they have the best taste in women! I think what I love so much about these stories is that they are just so intense, packed with suspense and drama and hot steamy sex. I can't help but fall into them, which is why I always have to devour these books in one sitting, because I just can't stop reading. This one was no different! Jordan and Vincent met and fell in love with each other 7 years ago but they are torn apart when Jordan just disappears one day. Now, 7 years later, Jordan is back and her reasons for leaving are pretty huge. And though he is angry with her for leaving him, he's not about to let her go again, especially once they discover she's still in danger. These two characters are among my favorites of Katie's characters and they really took me on an emotional roller coaster with their story. To have loved and lost like Vincent did or worse, to have found love but had to give it up the way Jordan had to, it's such an intense story. Jordan was a great match for Vincent, she took the heat from Vincents anger and then again from his sister and she did it all with her head held high. She knew she messed up but it was what had to be done at the time. And Vincent handled himself very well. Through all of his anger he knew he still loved her so he managed to just push it all aside. It's too often that the hero stays angry for longer than necessary and that wasn't the case with Vincent. Which made me love him even more! This book was a hit with me (obviously)! I loved getting the glimpses of past characters and hearing a few tiny updates. Now, I am ready for the next Red Stone Security book and I have my hopes for who will be the hero but we will see. My fingers are crossed...and okay my toes are too. If you have not ready any of these books yet you should go now and add them to your TBR list because they are a must read for romance lovers. I will never get enough of them and I hope she continues to write them forever! ;) Thanks for another great read Katie! *I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review* *This review can also be found on Book Lovin' Mamas Review Blog*

I am truly enjoying this series. The second chances at love is great. Jordan suddenly reappears into Vincent's life just as fast as she disappeared out of it. She took part of him with her when she left. And she left part of her behind. They had unfinished business that needed to be dealt with. When Jordan is facing danger, Vincent has no plans of letting her face it by herself this time. This story will pull you all different directions. The emotions that are played out make your heart stop, or your stomach drop out. You will hold your breath with anticipation of what will come. Katie has a way of words that will draw you in and keep you spellbound until the last word.

So this is super late, but I'm leaving a honest review for my ARC.  I loved Vincent, so I was super excited to see his story.  This was everything I wanted it to be, and more.  Suspense with the right amount of stream that keeps you reading.  I loved this book, and I keep going back to read it.  If you've never read a Red Stone Security book, this is the one to read!
