Protecting the Movie Star (The Protectors, #4) by Samantha Chase, Noelle Adams

The story of my life isn't pretty. I come from the wrong side of the tracks. I've been a criminal. I've been homeless. I almost killed my father, and I might be responsible for the death of my best friend.

I should not be wanting Evangeline.

Her life story is the stuff of dreams. She's America's sweetheart - beautiful, talented, and famous - and she doesn't want anything to do with me. I'll protect her from a stalker since it's my job, but that's all I'm allowed. No touching, no lusting, no falling in love. I'm all wrong for her, and she's completely off-limits.

But I've never been good about following the rules.

Protecting the Movie Star was originally published as Home Bound. It has since been expanded, revised, and re-edited.

Loved , loved Cole. He always felt like a failure in life and now he has been sent to protect movie star, Evangeline from a stalker. He is not happy about this assignment but there is an instant chemistry between them, but he knows she is off limits. Evangeline acts upon the chemistry, but Cole knows it will be temporary, since everything has been a failure in his life. Great characters that I loved. My heart broke for Cole, he has lead a tough life. A little mystery of who the stalker was against Evangeline, kept me turning the pages. A great conclusion to this series, wrapped it real well. This is a stand alone story but recommend that you read in order to understand the friendship of these Protectors.

Protecting the Movie Star is book 4 in The Protectors series by Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams. All 4 books were very good but I felt like Samantha and Noelle got better with each book. They work so well together that you would never guess they were written by 2 authors. It was such a great read !!! Cole is such a hard, emotionally closed off ex marine but when he has to protect Movie Star Evangeline his walls slowly start to crumble and once he finally gets out of his own way he becomes the man he was meant to be for her.

Cole and Evangeline are the quinticential example of opposites attract. This gruff guy from "the wrong side of the tracks" has a bad attitude about Evangeline, who he thinks is a snobby princess. He couldn't be more wrong! There were times when that giant chip on Cole's shoulder was a distraction for me and my otherwise love of Mr Grumpy. But if sweet Evangeline...who was by no means a pushover...could forgive him for that attitude, them what chance did I have!? Four very different H/h stories, connected by a fallen comrade, each with a unique trope. All can be read alone, but I recommend reading them in order.

3.75 stars-- PROTECTING THE MOVIE STAR is fourth installment the contemporary, adult THE PROTECTORS erotic, romance series co-authored by Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams focusing on best friends and former Marines Levi, Cole, Declan and Sebastian who co-own and operate a private security company. This is former Marine and security specialist Cole, and movie star Evangeline’ story line . PROTECTING THE MOVIE STAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. NOTE: PROTECTING THE MOVIE STARS is the re-release of the previously titled 2014 release Home Bound. Told from dual first person points of view (Cole and Evangeline) PROTECTING THE MOVIE STAR focuses on the search for a stalker. Evangeline is the latest Hollywood it-girl but a recent spate of threats find our heroine requiring more security both on the set and at home. Enter Cole-a security specialist with a chip on his shoulder as it pertains to spoiled, Hollywood princesses. What ensues is the building relationship between Cole and Evangeline, and continuing threats against our heroine’s life. PROTECTING THE MOVIE STAR is a quick read; a fast paced, forbidden romance between a hardened former Marine who has yet to come to terms with the death of his friend, and a young woman who is quickly falling for her acerbic bodyguard. All of the previous story line heroes play secondary and supporting roles. PROTECTING THE MOVIE STAR brings closure to the ongoing investigation and months of painful guilt that engulfs The Protectors leading males. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the romance is seductive and quick to build; the characters are energetic and dynamic.

THIS book you guys! This book had me so in the story. I was reading it at work and I kept talking out loud to the book. The people who sit near me kept asking me what I was talking about. I figured out who the stalker was and as they kept talking about suspects I was saying, "No, that not them! Come on guys!" Now lets talk about Cole. He is so rough and stubborn, but there is so much more to him. He hasn't had the best life and he went into this assignment to protect an actress with a HUGE amount of prejudice. I felt bad for Evangeline at first because he walked into her life with an attitude. I did have to laugh out loud when he was acting immature and messing up her name on purpose. I was happy that she stood up to him. I was on the edge of my seat at times as the stalker got more involved in the story. I guess the one good thing that came from the stalker was that Cole and Evangeline had to spend time together and the more time they spent the more they talked and it helped Cole with his prejudice. This is a fantastic story and when it was over I was sad because the series was ending and I am going to miss these guys.

Highly Enjoyable! This story was exciting, suspenseful and a little sexy. Cole and Evangeline relationship is full of angst, guilt and misunderstandings which leads to a lot of really great dialog! I also liked that the underlying suspense was drawn out enough but wasn't easy enough to guess who the villian is! Great read!

Favorite Quotes: My life had been nothing but a never-ending list of s* I didn’t want to do. Granted, I ended up doing most of them, but this? This was avoidable. It was a one-time thing. Okay, technically, it was a three-time thing, but that was it. No more… Okay, so it was going to be a four-time thing. And I was completely okay with it. We’ve traveled a long road together— not all of it was good— but I know that I am a better man for just knowing all of you. My Review: Protecting The Movie Star was the final book in the Protector series and tied up the last and most prickly member of the Protectors team. Cole was a cranky asshat with a chip on his shoulder. Evangeline was his movie star client, who found him to be surly and “vulgar,” while he had resented her before they had even met due to assuming she had led an easy life of indulgence and privilege. The storyline was rife with conflict and tension as the two protagonists needled and riled each other; which alternated with breath-stealing sensual scenes, oh my, Cole did seem to have some redeeming qualities. But the beauty had a stalker, one that was increasingly frustrating to Cole, as he couldn’t seem to nail down the access. Poor Evangeline, I thought Cole was going to require medical assistance to have his cranium removed from his colon as it seemed to be really wedged up there… The resolution seemed rather rushed yet was ultimately satisfying, and the Epilogue brought back all the previous characters to tie up the series with a nice glossy bow.

Protecting the Movie Star is the colorful and suspenseful story of Cole and Evangeline. There is so much to say about Cole. He had a tough upbringing (he lost his Mother at a young age and his Father was abusive) and he escaped by joining the military. That is where he met Levi, Sebastian, and Declan. He has never been different in their eyes but Cole has a chip on his shoulder. That chip puts a wall up between him and his friends and pretty much every person that had a better life than he did. Enter Evangeline. She grew up with Sebastian and became a successful teen star. She has moved into adulthood and is starring in a movie that is a bit out of her comfort zone. To make matters worse…she has a stalker. So Cole is hired to oversee her security detail and keep her safe all while working to catch the stalker. To say that Cole and Evangeline are complete opposites is an understatement. Cole makes a horrible first impression and he needles Evangeline at every chance he gets. As the stalker incidents escalate, Evangeline begins to feel safe with Cole and the two of them find themselves attracted to each other. There is drama, lust, passion, love, and a happy ending. Cole and Evangeline’s story is the perfect end to the Protector series!

If experience makes the man, Cole is a force to be reckoned with. From an early age he's fought battles that no person should have to face and done acts that have left him in despair. Criminal, fighter and best friend are monikers he can't escape, but the one title that changes the man from fighter to warrior is protector. He wears that title like a badge of honor and will let nothing stop him from shielding the woman he loves. Not even guilt. Protecting the Movie Star is darker and bolder than the previous three novels in the Protectors series. Not only does Cole and Evangeline tempt readers with their page turner romance, but authors Chase and Adams close out the series by tying up loose ends. An emotional tale of redemption, faith and hope that inspires the heart and heals the soul.
