He's the one she can't remember, she's the one he can't forget…

Tossed overboard, Ava Adams had been left for dead, drifting at sea. But security specialist Faisal Al-Nassar was determined to find her. He owed her father a great debt and had never forgotten the connection he and Ava had once shared. Yet after rescuing Ava he discovered she barely remembered him.

Amnesia had left Ava uncertain of who had tried to kill her. She did know, however, that Faisal was a man she could trust. The sheik's embrace was familiar and enticing…and possibly even more dangerous. How could she succumb to feelings for her protector when what she didn't know could get them both killed?

Long awaited answers are here with the latest from Julie Miller! We've been enjoying the intrigue surrounding the Watson family for several books now in The Precinct: Bachelors in Blue series and finally we get to the bottom of who has been targeting their family ... but not without another huge mystery coming along for the ride! Great book! I have enjoyed each and every one of the books showcasing the Watson kids finding their happily ever afters, and now we get the rare treat of the parent being the hero finding love! I just loved that! Detective Lieutenant Thomas Watson was shocked to learn his family was being targeted when gunfire broke out at his daughter's wedding a few months ago. Still fighting to get back to normal after the fall-out, the family is supporting his Dad in every way possible after his injury, including hiring private nurse Jane Boyle to be in charge of his care. Unbeknownst to them, Jane is in witness protection, and the danger from her past just might be coming to visit her again ... with the help of the Watson family enemy! Will they be able to rally this family of cops together to keep her safe ... and will he give in to the temptation to act on the feelings she's stirring up in him?

Someone is out to get Thomas Watson and he's determined to figure out who it is. Unfortunately, everyone's hit a dead end until his father's caretaker, Jane, is targeted. Fighting his attraction to her is one thing, but letting someone hurt her? That's not an option and this cop finds himself putting badge and weapon on to protect what's his. Being in WITSEC and keeping her past life a secret is tough, but falling for Thomas just makes things complicated. It doesn't help matters to discover he's just as attracted to her either. Getting targeted by a gunman, however, is enough to push her to do whatever it takes to protect the new life and love she's discovered. So, there's a 20ish year age gap between the H/h, and maybe I'm getting old, but I personally appreciated the layered depth of Jane and Thomas's relationship! Their chemistry was sweet and flirty, but I especially enjoyed the mature and introspective feelings expressed by the characters. When an author you love throws a flash giveaway and you're a lucky recipient, its icing on the cake to fall in love with the book you've won-it was that good! Jane and Thomas had great chemistry and it was fun to see the family together again. I got a kick out of the warmth and humor the Watson siblings brought with their antics and was intrigued by (hopefully) potentially new characters in the book. I didn't want the villain to be who it was and I admit I was completely fooled by potential suspects for most of the book. Overall, this was my favorite of The Precinct: Bachelors in Blue series! Julie Miller weaves a great romance with a fast paced tale that's high on suspense and the adrenaline rush that ensues just adds to the fun!

I have been anticipating the conclusion to this series so that all the answers would be revealed to my questions in the previous books and I was not disappointed! I always know the a Julie Miller book will be fast-paced, have great characters and come to a satisfying conclusion! I just don't want the books to end! In this series, it is helpful to read the books in order. There is an overall story arc that will help the reader understand what is ultimately happening. I will miss the Watson family. They are such a close-knit family but, down to earth and "normal" too. This book was about the father, Thomas, and the nurse, Jane, that was employed by the family to take care of the grandfather after the shooting at a wedding that occurred in the first book. Jane has secrets and Thomas is on a mission to find out what they are because he feels like she's in danger. Since the whole Watson family is in danger (the wedding shooting), the family is now looking at TWO people trying to harm them! It's really fascinating how this family of cops go about trying to take down those who are trying to hard them! A great read and a nice conclusion! I recommend it!

This story left me with a big smile on my face, what a wonderful ending to the series! This truly is 'character driven romantic suspense' because here the protagonist really are the ones to move the plot on, to shine with their integrity, knowledge, and experience. I enjoyed the mature hero and heroine, they have depth, tone, and spirits that are easy to connect with, they are the kind of people you want to surround yourself with, people you want to cheer for. Thomas Watson is a protector. He holds his family together, has been doing it ever since his wife died 20 years ago. He charmed me completely, I admit. I am enamored with his personality, his kindness, his caring, protective nature. And Thomas and Jane Boyle are adorable together. Jane is an alpha woman but there is enough strength in Thomas to take it and love it when she takes a command. They respect and admire each other, and not just physically, the connection they have goes much deeper, even though the passion and desire between them were tangible. The suspense builds continuously through the tale, elevating the tension and dread with every twist in the story. The malice attacks are continues, and as part of the story is told by the culprits' point of view, their thoughts and actions take the creepy form... A marvelous, entertaining, and suspenseful ending to the series that does not require you to read the first three books to love the events and characters of Protection Detail, but I do recommend the whole series! ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
