A co-worker recommended this diet book and after reading it and talking to my doctor I went for it. My family has a history of diabetes and hart disease and this diet seemed perfect for me. At the time I started, I was 225lbs, had elevated blood pressure and was on lescol for high cholesterol. Before I started using lescol my total cholesterol was 260mg/dl. After 110 days on the diet my blood pressure is normal, my cholesterol is 165mg/dl without lescol, my triglycerides are 110mg/dl and I now weigh 185lbs. My percent body fat went from 30% to 20% and I went from a 38 inseam to a 33. My wife is also on the diet and has lost 25lbs. I have not experienced any side effects of the diet(not even ketoses) and find myself with more energy and stamina then before. I have tried the low-fat diets that are recommended by the establishment and did lose weight(I was also running 3 miles every other day) but was unable to maintain my diet. I believe I will be able to maintain with the Protein Power plan. I highly recommend this book.

As a professional in the exercise/nutrition business this book is a great tool to understanding the power protein has and is very informational. It's an easy read for anyone! Great book!

I have a 16 year old son, he is 6ft tall and 290lbs. (No he doesn't play football). He eats allot just like any other teenager, but my son doesn't digest food correctly. I took him to see his doctor and he has high cholesterol and a form of diabetes. My son is an active kid, so I never understood why he was always so darn big. My doctor said to get this book and put him on it right away, along with exercise, and he should be just fine. I could tell my son was very excited but he didnt wanna show it. He will be starting this plan today and I will keep you posted. If anyone has an overweight child, it is safe to put them on this plan.

I bought this book some time ago and it is the only diet that works for me. If the food pyramid really worked then everyone in American would be thin!!!!! I think the diet industry wants us to keep eating low fat and high carb so that we stay on a diet and they keep making money!!!

A great book for anyone,not just those struggling with their weight! If you or someone you care about is afflicted with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, IBS or other chronic illnesses, get this book! The weight loss and health benefits are amazing!

I have just begus reading and am very sceptical but I have a wonderful doctor and he spoke very highly of the book and said he has several patients using this eating plan and they have all had good weight loss success. Will be giving it a try.

My employer gave me this book 3 months ago. I have now lost 25 pounds and the weight just keeps coming off. Instead of being upset because none of my clothes fit, I am now excited because my thinnest clothes don't fit! I went from a size 14 to a size 8! Please do something for yourself and buy this book!
