About the Author

Lois McMaster Bujold was born in 1949, the daughter of an engineering professor at Ohio State University, from whom she picked up her early interest in science fiction. She now lives in Minneapolis, and has two grown children. She began writing with the aim of professional publication in 1982. She wrote three novels in three years; in October of 1985, all three sold to Baen Books, launching her career. Bujold went on to write many other books for Baen, mostly featuring her popular character Miles Naismith Vorkosigan, his family, friends, and enemies. Her books have been translated into twenty-one languages. Her fantasy from Eos includes the award-winning Chalion series and the Sharing Knife series. www.dendarii.com

I'm not quite sure what has happened with this edition, but the margin settings seem to be off in a way that makes it nearly impossible to read. I am hoping that this will be corrected soon.

That I can't read it. Each line ends off the edge of the 'page.' Maddening!

Formatting was perfect on my Nook Simple Touch. I'm a fan of this author's novels, and it was great fun to read these earlier tales.

I just bought this book for my e reader, but it is unreadable. Each paragraph is a sentence that runs off the screen and this is the third book (out of five purchased) I have bought with this unreadable error. I'm getting a bit fed up with Barnes and Noble. I recommend you buy the books from Amazon and convert with a free converter.

I love seeing the early work of Ms. Bujold. "Barter" is one of my all time favorite short stories. However, the formatting is so far off that this cannot be read on my NOOK Simple Touch. It is possible to read on my laptop using the NOOK App. Please repair the formating isssues.
