I really loved this book. I know it is a spin off series of Unbreakable Bonds but I never read that series. I didn't feel like I was missing much. I see there's backstory that may have been fun to know but it in no way affects this book or the characters. I was drawn in and it held me there until the end. It’s a suspense in every sense. Romantic wise, we are clinging to the hope that Sven gives into Geoffrey’s charms and gives him a chance. Action/mystery wise we are trying to figure out who is stalking Geoffrey and making his life horrid. Geoffrey was amazing. He’s not a big guy, he has blond hair, brainy, and beautiful. He dubs himself a twink several times in this book so you get his physical appearance. Sven is a Nordic Viking looking dude. Long blond hair, muscles for miles, and is a giant beside Geoffrey. Opposites in size but inside they struggle with the same things. Acceptance, loneliness, and need for the love of their life. I was so invested in these guys. I loved their dynamic completely and adored the banter. Even when Sven wasn’t saying much the chemistry was perfect. I very much recommend this book to the people who love romantic suspense, edge of your seat drama!

Thrilling & Addictive Page-Turner ~ Craving More! ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ FOUR & 1/2 - STAR ✩ REVIEW ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ > > Judging a Book by it's Cover > Looking Deeper Third-person Despite the fact that this is a series debut, I feel it's important to advise readers that the WARD SECURITY series is a SPIN-OFF series from another series: UNBREAKABLE BONDS. While I had not read the other series and felt that I've missed some great stories about the secondary characters in this book, I do not feel it was entirely crucial to have read them. At the same time, I believe I would have better been able to enjoy the whole cast if I'd read the other series first as many scenes or situations were referred to that I'd not previously had the opportunity to experience. Sven is a bodyguard, employed by Ward Security. On the surface, Geoffrey is nothing more than a pretty, rich little socialite that craves media attention. When Geoffrey's home is invaded and he is violated, he is further shocked to discover the cruelty of a police officer's disbelief and demeaning commentary. With options low, he turns to Ward seeking the one man that he feels safe with. Despite being different in so many ways, outwardly, the guys develop an even stronger mutual respect for one another as the security detail continues. Threats continue to escalate an there are - quite literally - more than a million suspects. I loved the lead characters and enjoyed their journey and their interactions were entertaining. Their inner turmoils humanized them and made them quite endearing. The secondary cast were portrayed quite well, whether they were meant to be liked or not. Dialogue was believable. The plot was extremely well-written and kept the reader guessing! There was a smooth flow and exciting pace that left me with a book hangover while, simultaneously, wanting MORE! The climactic point was well done and it's always great to see when someone is underestimated! Predictability was very low. The conclusion was quite solid and provided an ending that leaves room for further development in the background of someone else's story. It satisfied the HEA criteria though. Overall, great read and it's making me want to backtrack to read all of the UNBREAKABLE BONDS series, then read THIS ONE again! .
