This book was suggested by a review for Clinical Versus Statistical Prediction for a more modern take of psychological tests and measurements, as it is a commonly required for those studying psychometrics. I found that the text was simple to understand and informative without being overwhelming. I’d say that it even anticipates your questions as you read along, making it a very good resource.
