Well, the final volume here zooms by way too fast but still manages to be a roller coaster ride of shock, surprise, and death with a bittersweet ending.
Final volume of the series. "Why does humanity always cast aspersions on others simply out of regret for their failure to understand the consequences of their own decisions?" This volume continues the examination of the wishes these girls make when bequeathed their magical powers and how these wishes ultimately lead to the dire fate that awaits them all. Madoka has resisted making a contact with the entity Kyubey. Her power is expected to be the greatest of them all and her fall equally terrible. This volume also examines the motivations of Homura. Her chapters are initially confusing, moving from several battles with deceased characters reappearing and events overlapping in ways that don't make sense until her secret is revealed. The action sequences are equally confusing. It is clear that the girls are battling SOMETHING. It isn't clear how they're doing so. The end to the series should satisfy fans of the first two volumes.
